No medical/vet advice as this is outside any experience as a pet owner I have ever had, but I certainly feel for you and can only offer you my best wishes/concern.
As an owner of a 6 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Newman), this hits close to home.
Best wishes to you and your 4 legged friend.
Grant

I am sure you are a great furbaby mommy, and I imagine your vet has a base-line blood panel workup on Carson, if not this would be the time to get one. Also, it's a good idea to keep a journal of when, and how long the seizure was and how long the recovery process took after the seizure stopped, and continue to keep a record if (and I hope not) one should occur again. It's best not to touch Carson during or directly after a seizure, as dogs can become very agitated. Also, should you need to administer meds. call the maker of the dog food you give him before you give it. My PWD bitch went off her feet, (rear collapsed) and after lots of heartache, and much travel to Duke, and big bucks, but mostly heartache for her I called Eukanuba and you can not give some meds. and use their food. Take care and keep us posted. We care!

It's always scary for your fur child is ill.
13 months ago, I happened to walk into the dining room. My Sunny was lying on the floor -- she likes the tile -- and I stroked her with my foot. She didn't move, and I looked down and realized she wasn't breathing. I screamed, snatched her up, did CPR on her, and she started breathing. I spent the next 24 hours getting her up every 15 minutes (No emergency vet available) until her vet was available.
Turned out she'd OD'd on her heart medicine. So we weaned her off that and went to a more natural method. We also found out that her thyroid had gone south.
She and her brother celebrated their 14th birthday in March.
Don't know how much time either has left, but we'll make the most of it.
You might look into a raw diet for him. Also research low dose naltrexone. There's a Yahoo group on LDN4Pets. Good stuff.
Good luck to you and your fur one.
