Try some of those AROMATHERAPY drops in your humidifier tank. Should never smell bad again.

Two drops of a water-based fragrance can't possibly hurt a humidifier tank. I've been using a couple drops of pharmaceutical grade Eucalyptus oil in mine off-and-on for months with no ill effects.
