If you want a lap band so much, get a medical loan or save your money. Clearly, you don't fit the guidelines. I needed experimental surgery in my 20s. It cost 4 months rent, but insurance wouldn't cover it. Best money I ever spent and I got my hearing back as an unexpected bonus.

Find some one with sleep apnia, someone who is about same weight and height, and plug the machine onto them.

G2H, I know this was posted like 5 years ago, but just thought I'd add that I feel your pain...literally & figuratively. Im retired military and have a bunch of buddies who've been diagnosed with sleep apnea. A lot of veterans try to get it, but get denied. Im currently going through my 2nd sleep study because the first one said I didnt have it. I researched online sleep apnea symptoms and on one major website I had 8 of the 10 symptoms and on another I had 7 of 10. Sleep apnea comes in various forms and varieties, not all cases are major snoring and/or breathing issues when sleeping. Depending on who does your sleep study (a quality or non-quality medical service) their sleep tests may not show certain symptoms...or the night they actually did you sleep study was actually a good night sleep for you. Im not overweight so a lot just look at me right away and think I dont have it. Some people have better nights than others. Do what you gotta do to get it and you can beat the system, more power to you.

To the wannabe saints that replied to him with your negativity, grow up and get a life internet clowns. Coming here to put out your social network warrior chest tells me all i need to know about you people....get out from your parents basements, stop watching child porn, and turn off the War of Warcraft video games! Im was a military cop for 20 years and currently work in civilian law enforcement and cant say that we ever arrested let alone even investigated someone for sleep apnea fraud. So Mr. "illegal" & "immoral" internet clown commenter, go back to licking windows. It's illegal to remove the factory tag on mattresses, but again havent seen anyone ever get arrested for that either....and trying to beat a sleep apnea test isnt quite the same as punching babies in the face or setting puppies on fire (for your immoral comment). Get off your soap boxes and stop throwing stones from your glass houses because im quite certain all of you have done much worse stuff in your lives than cheating a sleep study. You sound like a bunch of libtard snowflakes...where you love to call out others wrong doings, but not your own!

Trust a newbie to come here, reply to an old post (the OP is probably nowhere to be seen anyway) and get it all wrong with his tough military talk! The point of Cpap is to treat your problem, not just fool your empoyer! If you don't get properly treated there are serious consequences, not the least of which can be fatal. You're a jerk, so take your nonsense someplace else. People here know very well what they're talking about and have been advising from knowledgable experience for a long time.

I guarantee you are not the only veteran here. I am retired military, and like most of the people, I came here to learn how to take control of my own treatment, not how to cheat on a sleep test. The forum is called cpaptalk.com, not howtocheatonyoursleeptest.com. If you really want to learn how to take control of your own treatment, check your ego at the door and try to learn, other wise, don't let the door hit you on the a** on the way out.

FYI: my cpap is anything but "torture".
Minor inconveniences are a small price for good sleep, more energy, and better health.
BTW, cheaters never win, and now they are much more likely to GET CAUGHT.
Enjoy prison.

I said "prison"; maybe "pound" would be more accurate.
No-kill shelter? Or not?

TASsmart,

As a veteran of psych med withdrawal boards thanks to my stupidity in deciding to take psych meds, as an FYI, many people make the mistake of cold turkeying or tapering their meds too fast. What looks like a relapse can simply be due to withdrawal issues. Unfortunately, getting the medical community to understand this is a whole other discussion.

My point is if Junior decided he no longer needed his meds, he may have discontinued them too quickly. His outbursts don't prove anything either way.

By the way, why do you assume that if someone writes an "unacceptable" post, they have mental illness. Can't someone be a rotten human being without attaching that type of label?

I know you were joking but as one who normally has a good sense of humor, I don't see how what you said was funny.
