It is quite common to have a few random centrals even without an OSA diagnosis.
It is common to have them especially at sleep onset..entirely normal.
You would need to have a whole lot more of them every hour, all night long, every night....to have to worry about having central sleep apnea as well.
And then we have to factor in the limitation of the machine as well. It only does a one dimensional evaluation as to the status of the airway (closed vs open) and for complete and proper evaluation one needs brain wave (EEG for sleep status) and thoracic effort belt measurement.
Even if it was a real central evaluated with the additional data like it would be in a sleep study...a few random centrals are normal and no need for alarm and nothing is done about the.
So I imagine you are wondering how many does it take to start worrying? We aren't ever really told but unless I consistently saw 5 or so every hour, all night long, every night...I wouldn't be excited.
Of course if it really concerns someone....always discuss it with your doctor for their final say so.
Not long ago I had a night where I had 18 centrals...if they were real..it gave me a central index of 3 per hour. This was unusual for me..and I happened to have a really restless night due to back pain. I wouldn't be surprised if they were "tossing and turning...hold your breath" centrals due to pain.

Ok thanks for the reply . Was getting worried that I had CSA on top of my severe OSA.

Just completed another night and once again have had one central event. My AHI is down to 5.14 but I am wondering how I can go a week with no central events then all of a sudden two in two nights. Any ideas guys?

Centrals just happen....they aren't a death sentence. You are worrying about something that really is no cause for worry. They are a normal occurrence and some nights we have them happen and some nights we don't and some nights the machine might even pick up a turn over in bed hold your breath central.
You would need a whole lot more of them happening before we start worrying.
A while back I had 22 of them total throughout the night...I had a restless night due to back pain.
Next night...none..
next night....three..
Last night .....four...
One night I had one lousy central all night long and that was all I had..no hyponeas or obstructive apneas.
Try not to worry about a few random centrals here and there.... It truly is no cause for alarm.

Well last night I had a pretty bad night with the machine, feel really tired this morning. Have attached the data because I had a LOT of Obstructive events in a short period of time. Do not normally have this many. Any ideas on what is happening?

Aliens...yep they paid you a visit last night.
I see a break in the therapy line..did you wake up and stay up for some reason? Did you have a really restless night prior to the break in therapy line? After the break..things settled down to normal.
These clusters look a lot like awake or semi awake stuff...your pressures are way up there..how was the leak line? Just those high pressures could cause a disruptive night. So even without the events (whether they were real or not) that much disruption can sure mess with the sleep quality and yes, feel like crap the next day.
It might be time to nudge up that minimum pressure up just a wee bit more.
There is really no way to know for sure what happened unless you know you were awake during a lot of those events and they weren't real. There is always the possibility that they were related to supine sleeping or REM stage sleep though that first cluster wouldn't likely be REM related.
Sometimes we just have bad nights and we don't know why. Sometimes stuff just happens and we never know why. Since this is obviously not a normal night for you try not to let it bug you.
I had one here that left me pretty well toasted the next day. In my case it was turning off AFlex that made me be restless and restlessness caused leaks and leaks caused pressure to go wild and I swallowed air like there was no tomorrow.

Don't know if you were awake? I look at the expiration (increases) and inspiration (decreases) times to see when I am awake. Probably doesn't work if you were waking up frequently.

FYI: Aliens is an old joke on this forum--kind of like gremlins.
We blame them when we wake up and the mask in on the floor.
They get a lot of grief--if they indeed care.
