I have been guilty of both in the distant past; I posted under the name "who" for a while when I got my tender newbie feelings hurt during a time of medical problems. Experienced posters in this forum helped train me to do better. And I appreciate it. However, those bad tendencies are still with me even though I don't act on them. I have to continue to fight that about myself. I think those tendencies, common though they are, are negative enough to be worthy of being fought within myself.

The rest of my bad tendencies in the forum, I just live with.

I use myself as an example not simply because I am self-absorbed (as the number of posts in this thread attest to); I do so as a way to point out tendencies that others may see in themselves in this thread too. I guess I dig the clumsy metaphor. I think that Roster became a multiple Imposter in order to promote his political agenda ( http://redwing.hutman.net/~mreed/warrio ... alista.htm ) and that many of us bristle a bit too much when new ones make suggestions about ways of doing things when they don't yet understand how this forum has worked over the years and why it is as it is.
