I have tried several chin straps. Some keep sliding and others are very uncomfortable. I can not wear a full face mask. I wish I could. Please let me know if you have a chin strap that works for you.

I love my PapCap. It does not pull my jaw back, but pulls it up. I don't worry about it causing any dental problems. Earl

Have a question folks. In the Pap Cap picture you see the strap going under the chin closed to the neck, doesn't it interferes with the respiration?

I'm seeking for a good chin strap, it read some chin straps pushes the chin back (blocking the air passages), others produce teeth pain, etc

Please could somebody tell me about a good chin strap? I was taping but my skin doesn't seems to appreciate that anymore (maybe the winter dryness) I need to apply baby oil to unglue the tape each morning, the mouth guards works more or less, I think my brain forgot to keep the mouth closed even if in the past I had succeeded to make the trick with the tong against the mouth's roof.

I use The Ultimate Chinstrap. You can google for it. Yes, it's expensive (about $60), but it's the only thing that's worked for me. Some folks here have described it as a "Hannibal Lechter" strap. Yes, it does look strange, but I find it comfortable and it works for me.

I just ordered the Pap Cap. I sent Brett an e-mail asking about his product and in the return e-mail was a 15% discount. Plus he didn't charge a shipping fee. If the item doesn't fit he will gladly take it back.
I hope all you guys are correct about the Pap Cap. I'm trying to get away from a full face mask and into a swift fx. By the way you can purchase all the parts on e-bay for the swift fx.

I bought the papcap w/chinstrap a couple of weeks ago. It's great. I'm a fervent mouth-breather and the papcap allowed me to go from the Mirage Quattro FFM to the fantastic and awesome Swift FX! And now my AHI's are finally below 5 and appear to be dropping! Halleluiah!

I really like my Ruby.

Same principle as the Papcap except it is a once-piece open-air cutout instead of covering my whole head.

It leaves my hair almost completely uncovered, which I like, but like the Papcap it can't slip around once you put it over your head and pull it on.

That's the trouble with most of the other chinstraps - the main strap on your head has to stay exactly 180 degrees around from your chin. As soon as the headstrap slips forward or backward, they won't stay in place! The grip on your chin is lost.

The design of both the Ruby and the Papcap prevents that slippage.

I think I'm not ready for the Hannibal Lecter chin strap For sure there is some advantages I can see like: it's maybe better for your hair style in the morning and maybe less hot in the night but still I'm not ready I don't know but I feel I wont be able to wear it on my face all the night besides I have neck problems and probably it will disturbs the way I place my head on the pillow.

The Ruby has a good price but I think my so delicate skin wont appreciate the neoprene.

I think I will try the PapCap and hope it will fix the mouth breathing for good.

I'll second that. I have tried a number of chin straps...this is the most comfortable one that I have tried, and the only one that consistently gives me a good fit without having to spend a lot of time readjusting it every night.

PapCap is my fav chinstrap by far! Yes, it covers your hair, but for me that's a plus. it keeps my headgear in place without sliding around all over the place, and it keeps my hair from getting tangled in the headgear.

Just to clarify for others, after you wrote this I took a very close look at my Ruby chinstrap last night, and there is no exposed neoprene anywhere on it.

It is entirely encased and bonded into a very soft gentle fabric, both inside and out.

The bonded fabric on the outside is ruby colored while the bonded fabric on the interior is black. If you were only looking at the picture, I can understand that you may have thought the black inside was exposed neoprene, but it is not.
