And for those certain people--you know who you are--please don't come back with I'm in denial if I think weight loss could help, because I'm not. I've seen overweight people who lose weight get off cpap AND I've seen overweight people who lose weight not get off cpap; it can and does go both ways. I'm thankful for the treatment, but I've never liked using it and probably never will.

Never would I discourage someone from losing weight and hoping to cure or reduce their Pap needs by losing weight. If you do it and it happens Kudos ! to you ! Even if it doesn't work and just reduces your pressures its still an improvement. If sadly, it doesn't do anything for your paping needs at least the weight is no longer a variable. =) Maybe then you can look at the surgical options to fix a physical issue that was being masked by the weight if minor enough. The very worst case is that the weight is no longer stressing your body wow big down side there. So go for it!

Feeling much better now. Still alittle sore but all in all a lot better than last week. I will keep everyone posted on my implant progress. Thanks everyone!

Please do, Corky. Hoping to go down this path myself, it's most useful to see how things develop with you. Do you know of anyone else that has had the procedure before you?

No deb. All I know is I'm #4 and there will be 2 more after me in Charleston SC. I'm sure ( or hope) I get to meet them all one day.. 2 weeks away from getting my implant turned on. Can't wait!!

So if it isn't turned on yet how are you dealing with your OSA? If you are on a cpap why don't you post your data?

I was told by my Dr.'s NOT to use my cpap machine until the implant is turned on.

What is your untreated AHI? How are you currently dealing with your sleep apnea?

I'm not dealing with it. I go to sleep and snore all night long. I was told NOT to use my machine so I'm not using it. Wife does not like it but Dr's orders are Dr's orders..

@ NightMonkey - Agrees. However, I saw the writing on the wall back on page one. I gave Corky (now Corkyd) the benefit of the doubt initially, but then had to back off on too much vagueness and spotiness.
@ ChunkyFrog - Agrees also. Don't forget CF they get paid high for those 12 - 15 lettered words that only they seem to understand

Most of us know on this forum that If we followed doctor's orders to the letter, most of us wouldn't be here.

2 cents for the day

You last posters don't seem to understand that when you are undergoing trials of any new medications/equipment/whatever it might be, you must follow instructions to the letter!! Otherwise the trials are not consistent and true and therefore would be quite pointless. I'm at the beginning of the process of having an Apnex device implanted and there will be two control groups. One group won't have their device turned on for seven months.

So get off Corky's back for goodness sake. These trials are scientifically conducted and instructions must be adhered to. If you don't agree with the conditions then you would not be accepted into the program. You know, even way back, there would have been trials and testing done over a long time for the CPAP equipment. Had people not been willing to take the chance, you wouldn't have the machines and masks etc. you use today!

I don't understand the hostility.

Not everyone has perfect communication skills and says the right thing all the time. The folks who have been critical of Corky aren't perfect. No one is, including me.

Corky, I personally wish you nothing but the best. Please let us know how you are doing.
