(vertical) Mouth taping, Neck spasms/pain, Plugged ear

Post by Marietjie » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:44 am

(Someone here could learn from my stupid mistake!)
After months of struggling with a plugged ear, neck spasms/pain I discovered that I myself was causing this terrible uncomfortable pain to my neck (muscle).
I had physio treatments (neck tractions), visits to the GP(meds for sinusitis), neck x-rays, neck collar & many pain pills(± 4months) with NO improvement. Even changed my sleeping pillow.
The way I taped my mouth was WRONG. In the process I had my lower teeth touching my upper teeth (vertical direction taped too tight! which caused nerve inflammation in my neck/jaw)
This is how I now tape my mouth - Vertically (I don't like it horizontally -( which would not have caused this problem-I know) - lansinoh my lips - close my lips and roll them slightly inwards and most importantly I now drop my lower jaw before I put the tape on - the lower and upper teeth must not touch!
I was so STUPID.
