One little note:
Are you aware how hot ANY silicone gets while it is curing---VERY!

You know after about 6 months you will train yourself to keep that tongue in place. Thats about how long it took me.

Utter madness! The guys with the white coats want directions lol Just buy a full face mask????? what is it with people with sleep apnea, does it effect the mind. Why not shrink wrap your head and just cut too holes for your nose

I'm sorry that I don't have the knowledge or experience that a lot of people on this forum do. My idea was obviously a bad one. Desperation has led me to try to come up with any solution no matter how far fetched it seemed. For those who gave me honest concerns, I thank you. For those who continue to make fun of my idea, It hurts.
I owe the people on this forum more than I can put into words. You have given me the strength to continue on when I've wanted to quit! Things have not gone the way I hoped they would. I continue to struggle with my apnia which has been a large contributor to my fight against depression. I will continue to participate in the forum because I see the amount of knowledge and true concern that is present here for people who are struggling.
I thank God that he led me to you folks!

I sorry don't let our comments hurt your feelings, I just thought maybe, a joke or two would gently bring home the idea that this is a bad, bad way to go. I do understand your desperation.

I agee with the rest. Just talk to your dentist and get the device. Will be much safer than doing half the work of pushing your tongue into your throat.

Have you considered a hybrid mask? It is nasal pillows with a part that covers your mouth. In fact, I'm trying one through the the cpap library. I don't think you can ever be too knowledgeable about your own health.

Wildman, this is exactly how I saw your attempt to fix your problem.
When I started my therapy, I was desperate to find a solution.
In your way, you will find the solutions that work for you.
And in so doing, w/find one of the incredible benefits of OSA and cpap.
The opportunity to look into yourself in ways that would never have happened.
You will find resolve, creativity, strength and perseverance
that you never thought you were capable of.
It is an incredible journey. I consider myself lucky to have been put
on this path and fortunate for the opportunites to learn about myself.

Gee, I was looking forward to the video.

The idea might actually work if you find the right silicone material. Dentists do something like this when they make impressions for crowns.

It's actually a good concept, it's just that there are a lot of "silicone" materials out there that would be a really bad choice. Maybe someone will run with the idea and make something like this with something like the oral mask/SCUBA mouthpiece mouthplug.

Hmmm.... I wonder what a SCUBA mouthpiece part costs?

Just want to say Thank You to Archangle, Portiemom, Kairosgrammy and Carbonman for your lasts posts. They helped in a way that is hard to explain. Carbonman you are right about it being a journey of self discovery in a way. It's hard when the journey has lasted for 30 years,and then you end up not only fighting the depression but also sleep apnia! My faith has kept me going.
