a high leak message on the LCD.
Also functions as a mask-off
alert.

What makes you think your Autoset doesn't have it?
Locate and check the Clinical Guide for your machine.
Also, have you turned on the Clinical Setup menu?

Pugsy can give you the best link and instructions for this.

ResScan can be found in Uncle Bob's signature line.
memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643
I would for sure watch the tutorial on how to use ResScan
http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/
Pay special attention to the part about changing the download from the default (which is summary data only) to the full data download or you only get hours of use.
I am not much help with ResScan. I never could get it to do what I wanted but then...I didn't try really hard because SleepyHead already did what I wanted.

I got a call from my step sister yesterday. Some of you may remember that I got her a ResMed S9 Autoset when her machine died. She has been off and on using the cpap machine for 7 or 8 years. Never knew that there was any other masks available other than the over the nose mask she had which decimated here nose.
So last weekend she got the new S9 along with the Swift FX nasal pillow mask and opted to try the extra set of the Bella Loops (I had purchased 2 sets) with it instead of the traditional headgear. She absolutely loves the Bella Loops. No problems with them whatsoever.

I tried my bella mask last night and had good results as far as readings and leaks. I had to remove it about 4 AM this morning cause where it went over my right ear it had rolled into a round string like and was hurting my ear. Up to that point after reviewing my card I had no events or leaks. Switched to my Swift FX and finished the night until I got up at 7 AM. In that time I had 2 short clear airways (probably rolling over) and 2 short hypopnea's and zero leaks for the night. My AHI was .5 and that"s the lowest I've ever had. Tonight after I get it on I'm going to move the pink tubes up to cover where it goes over my ears and around back of my ears. If that works OK I'll have my wife make me some small tubes to cover the small strap part after I get it on and that should take care of the problem. The longer tubes should prevent strap marks and soften the pressure on your ears. Also used a chin strap over top and that kept my ears flat to my head so I didn't have dumbo ears during the night.

Great results for 3rd night on the LoopsI I thought I was fighting leaks all night but surprisingly I got a smiley face! Median leak was below the red line at 19.2 but 95 percentile was above it at 33.6. AHI was only 0.74 if accurate with that leak. I think my chinstrap is slipping around, but the Loops definitely work!

I think ResMed should of made that small flat part of the mask strap round, cause round would fit over your ear easier than flat.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, yes I agree, the loops should be round where it goes around your ear. Also, my hubby has a bluetooth for his cell phone, called Jawbone, now go with me here for a minute...what if Resmed made a mask that went in the ear like the Jawbone with a similar pad, which would act like a earplug to drown out mask exhaust that hits the bedding and then some sort of short loop material like band, elastic to the piece that holds the pillows? Now IMHO that would be an awsome cpap mask. I bet we will see something like that one day!

It's not bad enough I have things shoved in my nose, now you're suggesting I also shove something in my ear?! No thanks!

Too funny SleepingUgly, I just don't want to end up with my ears sliced off on the pillow or worse yet pulled up my nose by those Bella Loops!

I've just set mine aside until I can come up with better covers than what I have on them. I've seen what the backs of people's ears normally look like (thanks, over-crowded subways and streetcars), and that does not match how mine feel (you'd almost think that surgeons prefer to make the less-visible side the messy one).
An idea for a Modification …

I am continuing to wear my Bella Loops every night, mostly with great success. (Once I set my S9 to audibly report leaks, of which there are few, I no longer feel it necessary to listen for hissing, trying to distinguish between exhaust and a genuine leak.) However, I often wake once in the middle of the night to find that they seem to fit too loose, and I tighten them slightly, only to wake up with my ears hurting where the bands go behind them.
I have been thinking of some sort of a modification, perhaps replacing the loops with some sort of equally thin and rubbery-feeling strips of silicon, one to go over my ears and one under them but going around the back of my head instead of around the backs of my ears.
Sort of like thin rubbery shoelaces that would thread through the existing right and left connectors that snap onto the nasal pillow base. Or maybe something like giant rubber bands, but not too constricting. I think this might work as well to hold the pillows in place but the back of my head would hopefully not be as sensitive as the backs of my ears!
Maybe I'll contact Karen at padacheek and/or haunt the nearby fabric store or even an office supply store!
I'll keep you posted.
Regards, Nate

I love the Bella Mask... don't even know I have it on. Once in awhile the pillows slip down, but I slip 'em back up and fall back asleep.
If your ears bother you, I think you made the loops too tight.
I hope you find a fix to your satisfaction, Nate!

Paula J wrote:Have used my new Bella Loops for the past 2 nights. My AHI is a little higher with them. I normally use a nasal mask. The Bella Loops did leave marks on my face that took a while to go away.......so I had an extra Pad-a-cheek strap cover, I cut it in half and it fits very well on the Loop straps. No marks this morning. Thought this might help someone. It is very comfortable to wear. I'm going to keep trying it and see if my AHI will come back down (I hope)!
Can you explain?
