Here's the deal on the score of "6" from Zeo:
The score of "6" corresponds to a deeper stage of light sleep. As such, when Zeo makes a final decision (and the data is uploaded to the website) it may decide that this stage is light (3) or deep (4) sleep.
I charted the 30 sec data from the site and directly from the card. They were identical save for the "sixes" which were all scored as 4's (deep) in the 30 sec data from the site.

Jay Aitchsee wrote:Liz, if I go to the folder which holds the Decoder-viewer there are two more sub-folders: Lib and ZeoData. ZeoData holds the data which has been imported from the card organized by date/session. If I drill down to the individual sessions and click on one, I can read the data from the card for that session including the the 5minute and 30 sec hypnogram data. If I copy the 30 sec data and paste it into a spreadsheet (A1) and then do the "text to column" operation (space separated), it will fill the spreadsheet with the data and then it can be charted producing the same hypnogram that would have been done by downloading from the site. (actually, it's not quite the same, mine includes values 0,1,2,3,4, and 6. I remember reading something about the 6 value, but now i can't recall what it was. Something about deep sleep, I think).

The 30 sec data is labeled "Base Hypnogram" and the 5 min data is labeled the "Display Hypnogram".

I think it's a little quicker and cleaner than downloading from the site. Try it and see what you think.

I think I'll re-read this in the morning, it's been a busy day! But thanks, just not processing tonight!

BTW, I had an EKG today and still had some tabs stuck to me when I got home. Wondering if those are the same metallic fabric as the zeo uses... just curious...
It was strange rapid heart rate and chest pain, got paranoid.... You never know. ER Doc didn't find anything, follow up with PCP thursday.

Hi Lizistired,
OOohh, sorry to hear about the pain and tachycardia. No, those adhesive tabs are different than the Zeo's metallic fabric, but the same idea. Funny thing, if you stick the Zeo on your left-center chest and run the real-time ZeoScope (with a serial/USB cable) you get like an EKG! It looks a bit different, of course, but there it is, lub-dub, lub-dub... in a spiky waveform. LOL.

FYI: We wrote a Zeo interface to our analytical software here and I presently have real-time Zeo streams going into our real-time database. The raw brainwave signal, the frequencies, sensor impedance and Zeo's sleep levels. Once I build a real-time history, I'm going to figure out what the heck can be done with it

I saw that post and thought that was pretty cool to stick it on you chest... might have to make one!

liz, sorry to hear about your heart problems. Maybe a panic attack? Let's hope nothing serious.
Save those clips. If they have the same snaps as the Zeo sensor, you can use them in place of the soft sensor. Some folks at the Zeo forum are doing this.
Max, I know you'd like to try that.
Liz, I read my post about copying from the card. It sounds way more complicated than it is. Instead of downloading from the site, just open the session and get it there. Once you copy it, the rest is the same.

Here's last nights brainwaves and sleep stages from our software as I slept. I can line them up with my pulse-ox, ResMed, Zeo stages, but I have to figure out what it's telling me I have to confirm they are recorded / labeled correctly, as the lowest "squiggly" (labeled Gamma) just above sleep stage seems too low and flat. Unfortunately, it seems the serial port is exclusively bound to one application or another, so I cannot run ZeoScope and our software connected at the same time to compare.

Update: Yep, Gamma is correct.

Very impressive, Max.
Some folks over at Zeo are using Arduino to process the Raw Data. Way beyond my level of expertise, but may be something you want to look into.
As I mentioned above, some are using 3 adhesive ECG sensors in place of the Zeo soft sensors. Zeo themselves say they working on that.

Thanks. I notice the colors on some plots don't show well, so I've requested a change to that.

What you see is in an advanced data access, preprocessing, mathematical modeling, prediction and optimization "server" (and a suite of desktop tools) so I have more than what I need. The Zeo interface we built has the option to store the raw brainwave or not, but that is so dense in data for a night's sleep, about 3,225,600 data points per 7 hrs, I've switched it off for now. Our software can handle that OK, as it handles 50,000 data points per second. It's just a double-click to turn it back on.

Wow! Once again, very impressive. I am anxious to see how your work progresses.

I suppose the first step is to classify "Awake" vs. "Sleep". Even the Zeo has some challenges in doing that for me. Next, I think an "Arousal" indicator, so I can count them fairly accurately each night, as I suspect they impact my sleep quality.

... and get the CMS 50E data in there, too, then the ResMed...

Hello Dear Community,

I wanted to ask - would it be possible for some of you to upload the recent Bedside Firmware? Either 2.6.3O or 2.6.3R should be fine. The Website where you could download is doesn't accept the form anymore, which makes it impossible to download it. Also - the Zeo Support, as many of you might know, also suffers problems. It would help me a lot!

Thanks,
Shankar

Shankar, when those of us who signed up to receive this 2.6.3O firmware, we had to sign up with our names and addresses, as this was a Zeo owned firmware - it was not open source. We have to gain permission to share the file. I requested permission this morning. Hopefully it will reach someone. Hopefully the ability to share will be granted, or hopefully the option to sell the firmware will be put into place. If I can gain permission, I will post here again - and will absolutely share the file with you.

Good morning,

I'm not sure if this email will reach anyone or not, but I'm hoping that it will.

My name I Beth XXXXXXX, I was one of the people who signed up for and received the firmware 2.6.3O. I have severe sleep apnea, and am a member of the CPAPtalk forum. (cpaptalk.com). I purchased my Zeo in 2011, fairly soon after I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Using the zeo machine with my other cpap card reading programs, I am able to sufficiently know when it is time to see my doctor for issues that I would not other wise have any understanding.

This process of information gathering has literally saved me twice. The first time, I was able to tell my doctor about the issue and have my pressure adjusted accordingly, the other time, I was able to get a sleep study to diagnose the problem and had my care adjusted accordingly.

Many of us at cpaptalk.com have the Zeo BedSide Sleep Manager - as we purchased it when it hit the market and told our fellow newly diagnosed with sleep apnea members about it. It has become a very important tool in our care. When we began to suspect that Zeo, Inc was either going out of business, or was having difficulties, many of us downloaded the firmware 2.6.3O file in order to use the open source viewer to continue our self care.

Now the page is locked in order to get the firmware to use the viewer. I am asking permission to allow those of us at cpap.talk, or myself specifically - whatever works the best for whatever process Zeo.Inc is going through, to be allowed to share the firmware 2.6.3O . . . or if what remains of Zeo Inc, or the new buyer, or the courts would consider selling this unencryption key at it's decided price for each download to make it available to those who need the care it provides.
