Respironics moving the software to a password protected site and claiming that it's available for vendors/DMEs tells me several things:
1. They probably really didn't intend for us to download the software free of charge. After all from what I've read, the Encore Pro software is really designed for DME's and for tracking a LOT of patients--that's the beauty of Derek's MyEncore--it's data about (my, me, me, me ) and not for tracking minimal information about lots of patients.
2. Respironics (like the doctors, sleep lab and DME in my area) are surprised that patients are intrigued enough to monitor their own therapy. My guess is Respironics never expected the common lay person would download the software in the first place (why protect it)--we are not DMEs or sleep labs--WRONG as the saying goes .. inquiring minds want to know
