SleepingBearDoNtWake,
You post some valid points. I too had low vitamin D, and it took over a year and a half at 20,000IU PER DAY to raise my levels from 13 nmol/L to the 63 nmol/L range. I also suffer from low male hormones, actually, all of my hormones are low, indicating that I have a type of autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome. Combine that with my DVT this year, and my health has been all over the place.

I just had my 6 week follow up and things are still pretty good. My average AHI for the last 30 days is 1.8 and I am 100% compliant, I just don't go to sleep without it on and only take it off at night if the power goes out (car hit a telephone pole in the neighborhood but it was only out for 30 min).
I did get one surprise at the visit... I guess the AHI of 26 was only preliminary. Upon review I had an AHI of 44 so I am in the severe category. In 161 minutes of sleep durring the study I had 64 OAs and 54 Hypopneas with 9 RERAs. My O2 Sats went down to 85% and my sleep efficiency was 70.9%.
One thing I found interesting is that they have a Sleep Latency value. Durring the non CPAP portion of the test it was 2.6 minutes. With the CPAP on it was 27.1 minutes. I guess they like to have you take 15+ minutes to fall asleep. I have always fallen asleep quickly for the most part, as long as there isn't anything big on my mind and I still do, my wife says I fall asleep faster with the CPAP. Yet they say they want you to take 15+ min to fall asleep. What are they measuring??

I experienced fast results, probably because my desat was down in the 60s. AHI only 49. Now first 4 month average is 0.4, still trending down, thanks to all the great suggestions from this website.
