When I started getting the "good-sleep"... the REM sleep, I experienced many, many more dreams. Some were bad dreams, but over the past year, they been mostly good. Funny thing... I know you dream in REM, the deepest mode. Sometimes on the weekend, I'll awake, and roll over for another 10-15 minutes of sleep. Sometimes I dream during during that 10-15 minutes. That tells me I went immediately into REM. I asked a sleep doctor last week, and he only shrudged his shoulders.

I do that too. The theory behind the "gentle alarms" is that they wake you from lighter sleep and not during REM. I don't know how effective they are but I know I am in a better frame of mind when I wake from a lighter stage of sleep than REM. I can see the REM stages in my ResScan data. If something wakes me during REM I have confusing thoughts and some anxiety. I am still enjoying sleeping as much as I can so I am not using the alarms.
