Good morning SU.
One thing I'll comment on: His hose disconnecting at the bottom.
Putting it on something to raise it up?
In my spare bedroom, I have a small box to set it on and in my bedroom a wire rack. So my cpap is raised approx. 6+ inches off the floor in both rooms.
Another thought:
Maybe he's pulling the hose out and its disconnecting like my Dad's. I don't know what kind of bed your son sleeps on (full, twin etc).
By putting something (pillows, stuffed animals etc) that would keep him closer to his cpap without going too far on the opposite side of the bed.
Just my 2 cents.
