Obviously, I was just joking, but was wondering if the mask would tend to break out sensitive skin? I would think something covering that much skin would tend to block the pores, but it wouldn't be the first time that I was wrong. Just looks like it wouldn't give the skin much room to breathe, and would tend to make one sweat?

Now the logical mask doesn't look half bad. The custom molding really is quite interesting and seems like it would be on the order of a molded dental appliance(?)

Looks way more normal than this thing when you compare them. Definitely looks like it would form a good seal.

I absolutely agree. That's why I use the Aura and stopped using the Swift!!! Just was not comfortable no matter what I tried.

I noticed Lori that you visited the site for the custom moulded mask. When you read it and understand the concept it is good. Do you agree? Could you answer or someone else about the Aura mask. I haven't seen this before but how do you sleep on your side. I am a side sleeper and the Logical is just so stable but the Aura looks as though it could dislodge from the nostrils very easily. By the way the Logical has nostril protrusions as well but an impression is taken of the nostril region and of course the mask fits exactly into my nostrils. I couldn't stand the nasal prongs before. Too uncomfortable and anyway our nostrils are not round or oval they are all different shapes and that is one reason why the Logical mask works so well. It seals with ease and it is ever so quiet. I think I will stick with mine. It costs more to have it custom moulded but boy it sure works for me and many many other sufferers. I can sleep all night with it on and in the morning my face shows no side affects of sleeping with a CPAP mask. I have had 3 of these masks in 11 years I think that is pretty good. Ally girl

I swear by the Aura. And it's true that we can't get the Logical in the States yet, so we don't have the option. But the Aura, in my opinion, is the most stable of any mask I've ever worn. Since there is nothing touching the sides of your face, the pillows don't dislodge and cause leaks. And they offer you M, L and XL pillows, so one is going to work best for you.

There have been many a modification made to this mask, including someone on the site, Rested Gal, who actually took off all signs of the headgear and just uses strategically placed straps to hold it in place. However, I found mine perfect ROOTB (right out of the box). The main complaint about this interface is the box on the top of the head causes some problems with hair loss and/or flattening in the mornings.

Since I have gotten the XL pillows, it is virtually leak-free and I wouldn't think of changing. I just don't think I could find anything that is this comfortable and as leak-proof as this is for me.

As they say on this site, YMMV (your mileage may vary) and this might not work as well for you, but that's the way it is with all masks and mostly everything OSA-related. It's definitely an individual thing.

Ally, I want you to know your assumption about the Aura is true in my personal experience. The Aura is the most unstable mask I've ever worn and it dislodges from my nose very easily. Therefore I don't use it.

Ally, you mentioned you awake with no signs of having slept in your mask. How do you prevent the straps from leaving marks along your cheeks and forehead? Does a demarcation line appear on your skin from the eyebrow area to your lip showing where the edge of the mask was pressed against your face throughout the night?

Designers need to be informed about many many things before solving one problem and ignorantly creating another.

The biggest problem has already been mentioned and that is that so much (petroleum based) material is touching and suffocating the largest organ our body has - the skin. The less obstruction or interference with our bodies the better.

I don't have any marks on my face at all. I feel this is because it is custom moulded to my exact facial shape. It doesn't fit tightly because the sealing is only around the nostril region.Strap pressure is so very very light because it doesn't need the straps to seal either. As I said it is all done around the nostril region. Anyway we all have likes and dislikes about everything, but I know that this mask is just so great for me and others that I know who use it. I don't think they are working in the US at present but I do know there are plans for this in the furture. The Aura isn't in Australia but I would be interested to have a look at one. Not that I would change from what I have .The head piece of the Aura area I feel may be uncomfortable but it obviously suits some.

Thanks Ally. I wish I could try the type of mask you are using. I'll keep my eyes open for when it becomes available in the U.S.

Is this guy a vet? That second picture dow really looks like a hog.

is it scary to look at? is your current mask sexy? maybe even hot? I don't think so. lights out mask on remember so if it works who really cares because you will be in he dark.
