Well..... maybe very shallow breaths. I just went and tried it again. XS pillows on the mask. I did very very tiny shallow breaths and in 5 breaths the machine kicked on. I didn't even put the mask on, just stuck it up next to my nose.
Now maybe if there is a lot of nasal congestion impeding air flow...maybe but then it would be unlikely that someone would be using the nasal pillows.

I did try to put the resistance setting to "0" but it won't go below "one" so just left it there. I never did think I had much lung capacity so maybe that's it! Not much breath! Seriously. But I'll try it again with more breaths and see. And Cat Week was cute - thanks for the tip.

Is there someone else who could give it a try for you? Or just take the mask off the hose and well try it another way?

Take the hose off the mask, stick the hose in your mouth, inhale and exhale through that a few times, see what happens.

Assuming you're not grossed out by the idea of sticking the hose in your mouth.

Hi... sounds like you have a full face mask. If so, the auto-on-off is disabled - for your safety, I presume. If you don't have a FFM, you might check what mask type is indicated in your user choices; could be it's set incorectly. Hope that helps.

I don't see the safety issue for auto-on. I think it would actually be safer if it turned on automatically. As it is, I end up breathing for a few minutes with the mask in place and the machine off, because I need both hands to fit the mask and clip it in place, and don't have a free hand to turn the machine on until I've done up the last clip. Maybe I'll get smoother with practice, but auto-on would be really nice.

Your Auto on is not ON? Heck, that is easy to fix. Did you get the provider manual? It explains how to turn it on and shows where the choice is in the clinical menu.

Wording is a bit odd..
Auto On choices are On and Off...when ON is selected it lets the machine start automatically and if it doesn't just a couple of forceful exhales and inhales will kick it in.

Auto Off choices are On and Off...when this is set to On..the machine will turn off if no breathing is detected after a minute I think it is. If set to Off..the machine will continue to run until you turn it off manually.
Sort of confusing that for something to be off..it needs to be on.
