yes you are a DME and as such you should be selling via normal channels and this isn't one of them
please donate the machines - we had someone here a few days ago wanting a donated machine - we get these requests fairly often - please send the machines to those people
a DME selling here I look very negatively on and I am sure others do too

Thanks for the "advice". Let me know when you start making the rules and, more importantly, can enforce them. Until then, you are just another person among the other 7 billion that has an opinion.

That thread was in response to "ericinNC". Had I not been able to refrain, I would have posted the same thing.
BTW, I scanned mcdover's previous posts when I saw the thread today, as anyone should. But I think some are over-reacting.

I for one appreciate the opportunity to purchase a gently used machine that I couldn't afford otherwise.
Original post didn't offer models and prices..just request to PM if interested. Someone posted a request for models and prices and McDover complied.

You know, I have seen at least 3 members on here since mcdover posted today that were given bricks and had ineffective treatment, and more over the last week that didn't have insurance but needed a machine.
So what's the problem?

Just looking to get some shelves cleared off and offer some savings to the forum members at the same time.
On a side note, I've got a bunch of Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask-Shallow s/m/l that I really need to get rid of.

Count me in as #2 in that 7 Billion. If you want to become A DME have the balls to get your own sales site, until then that's free loading. Jim

Okay, you're a #2. Thanks for the advice.

I believe I dealt with mcdover (same user name) on cpapauction and it was my worst experience on the auction site and I did a lot of business there. I just wanted to put that out there. Buyer beware!

Here's your feedback and complaint and my response copied directly from Cpapauction. I can post up the email exchanges between us too if you want. I told you that I DID NOT offer your preferred method of shipping, but you bid and bought anyway.
Machine was certainly as described! I did, however ask for shipping to Canada via USPS (no brokerage fees or customs). Received a reply with a shipping cost- paid it. Then received an email saying -shipped UPS Standard I had to pay just about $90 in brokerage fees. The seller did not notify of this change. UPS does offer some brokerage free services(air services). Bad business!
Your Response I have multiple emails going back to Fall 2008, telling you that I do not ship via USPS. The listing states that shipping is done via UPS. Buyer: Hawthorne ( 69 ) Mar 13, 09 10:22 am CST Mar 20, 09 10:13 am CST

I have no problem with mcdover and others offering used machines for sale in this forum, as long as it isn't against forum rules.

Well, people can read that feedback CAREFULLY and see how the transaction went. If read carefully, it speaks for itself.
I paid USPS shipping cost to the seller and then it was shipped via a courier and I had to pay the courier cost.
On other inquiries I made to this seller ABOUT OTHER ITEMS, he said he did not ship via USPS. That is true. I did NOT bid on those. With this particular item, when I inquired specifically, he said yes to USPS - charged me the USPS shipping, and then sent it by courier and I had that added cost.
The emails he has that go back to Fall 2008 DO NOT refer to this item but to others items he offered about which I inquired. I checked with all the sellers on every item I bid on on the cpapacution site and ONLY bid on the ones that said they would ship USPS. I bid on this one because his email responses indicated that he would ship USPS, for which he charged me. I thought, with his email response and the fact that he charged me the USPS rate, that he had changed his policy.
I did say that the machine was good!
If you live in the US there may not be a problem like this but he knew I was in Canada when we discussed this.

Just to clear some misconceptions up. This is not a business for me. I don't buy used equipment and I don't sell used equipment thru my company. I've got a few used machines that I have no use for. I have money in them, so I would like to get a little of it back and provide a big savings to my fellow forum members at the same time.
For some reason, some want to vilify me for this. Not sure why.

I have no problem with this. In fact I appreciate it because I simply can't afford new and nothing local on Craigslist and I got screwed by a long distance craigslist deal so won't do craigslist long distance any more.
So this helps me. Yes, I will admit that I am selfish but it also will help someone else because I will now have another machine that is no longer needed that I can in turn offer to someone who needs it at a significantly reduced price. I wish I could afford to simply give things away but my pockets just aren't that deep.
