Well, in a way your doctor was speaking truth: 4-6 hours each night is all that is required by the insurance company to continue paying him for your "care". Let me guess, is his office connected to the supplier for your cpap?

I don't take off my mask when I sleep ever, even if I nap or get up during the night.. My AHI is 87 and I've noticed I have more events towards early morning. I really wouldn't advise anyone to remove their mask. I spent probably too many years with undiagnosed sleep apnea - I don't want to damage my body any further.

For me that would mean getting a couple hours of sleep before I suffocate. Thanks Doc.

Sleeping with XPAP all night is like playing with a Revolver with no Bullets.

Sleeping without XPAP ALL NIGHT, is like playing with a Revolver with a one or more Bullets loaded.

That should be clear enough for most people. Jim
