It would be hassle for the the OP it would be around a 3000 mile trip to the grocery store
Buying distilled water in the UK is a major hassle. Its not in any stores at all. The closest you can get is a special order purified water from a pharmacy (like BOOTS).
Your only option really is to distil your own or just use tap water.
If the chlorine bothering then you can leave the water outside in the sun for a few hours in a transparent container.
But then again being in the UK waiting for some sun can also be a hassle

Gives one a great reason to build a still. When not distilling water you could use it to ahhh, ummm... oh, never mind.

The OP seems to be in a major city in Australia, where I'd be amazed if you couldn't get distilled water, and you're in Arizona. What's up with the UK?
You can't buy distilled water in the UK? Really? Don't people iron their clothes there?
I use distilled water in mine. $0.63/gallon last time I bought it. I personally find all the "scents" they insist upon sticking in everything today really annoying. To each their own, but I have a hard time thinking of something more unpleasant to do with my CPAP than making the air stink with some chemical concoction.

Thank you to all the posters who are so willing to share their experience, knowledge and know-how so willingly...I have been on a trial machine and am delighted with the difference I have experienced since I commenced a month ago or is it 5 weeks ago. Tomorrow I go and collect and *sigh* pay for my machine and look forward to a life time of good sleep like I have been experiencing recently.

I checked with my CPAP supplier and they stated that tap water is fine. A quick wipe out gets rid of the cloudy mineral deposit and I will be sure to keep it clean with a regular wash
Thank you for all the assistance, it is much appreciated
Cheers Katagal

Only if you hook the output of the coffee maker to a still.

Maybe it does around you. Near me, most places are asking between about $1.10 and about $1.50. And the price varies even at the same store.

I have been scenting my cpap water for a couple of years now. I have used both non-alcohol mouthwash or a few drops of peppermint or lavender oil. The only problem I have with this is that the scent seems to dissipate before the night is over. I do rinse the tank and add fresh, cold water every night. I can't stand to breathe warm air. (As it happens we have a well with extremely soft water so in 40+ years we've never gotten any residue in any appliance.). So if you use scented oil on a cotton ball by the air filter, will the scent last all night?

You might not smell it even if it does.
The human nose becomes "numb" to scents it is smelling constantly.

If you are asleep, how do you know when the scent dissipates and what difference does it make if you are asleep?

I have done the cotton ball trick with various essential oils.
How long it lasts depends on the strength of the oil and how much you put on the cotton ball. I have had it last 3 or 4 days before I could no longer smell it.

I may wake up dead one day but I just out a few drops of mouthwash in my water.
I’m opposite of you in that I can’t stand cold air. I prefer warm humidified water. Proves were all different! Lol
