Thanks Sherrif, ems and gasp. I changed my ramp time from 45 mins to 20 mins, still at setting of 4. I don't like lying in bed and waiting for therapy to kick in. So, what I did last night, I put my nasal pillows in and adjusted my headgear/chinstrap. Then I used the MASK FIT feature(which provides treatment pressure for 3 mins). After the 3 mins the treatment pressure began. No ramping. I liked this and I think I am not going to use ramp any longer. I appreciate the input. I learn a lot from it.

Thud... I have a S9 as well, and was started at 4cm - 14cm as my range. My Doctor told me that since the device only goes as low as 4cm, the ramp would not do anything as it could not go any lower than 4cm.
For me, I have never used the ramp and have been okay. I have my min setting now though at 9cm.

I use 14cm as a minimum and have never used ramp... tried it once, it started at 8cm and I didn't feel like I was getting enough air so I turned it off.
Since I started therapy, I hardly ever get up for the bathroom. When I do, I take off my mask and leave everything running. I see a 90 sec large leak blip in my data but it doesn't seem to affect anything.

Hi Thud - -
Turn the machine off when you get up during the night, and if convenient, unhook the mask in one place so you don't need to re-adjust when you re-don the critter.
Other posters are correct. The ramp is most useful when becoming accustomed to the contraption, but in short order, you will not need it and will find it an annoyance.
I'll also mention that new pappers sometimes do not re-mask right away when returning to the sack, which is a mistake.

I always shut off machine and take off mask. I just don't like wearing my mask given the fact that bacteria from the toilet gets into the air in the bathroom. Call me obsessive if you want, it's OK with me. . . .
