Yeah, I got that after I posted. Anyway, let me rephrase - I'm sure you will enjoy the Zeo WHEN you get it.
BTW, are you still using video. I upgraded mine to include time stamp, makes it a little easier to correlate. I don't remember if you had that capability or not. If not, you can get the software at nimisis dot com.
The transmitter on the brain thing is a consideration, I'd guess. Of course, they claim it to be safe (like cell phones). Maybe, if it helps me regain restorative sleep that will offset any damage done by the TX - lesser of two evils.

Jay
I haven't been. I sometimes think worrying about by sleep interferes with my sleep.
The software on my laptop has time lapse and time stamp. I should get something better for my netbook since it would be more convenient to use for that. I plan to do the video again when I get the ZEO.

I agree, and it's funny you should say that, I just read the same thing on the Zeo site.

Yeah.....it's a fine line between tracking data and obsessing. However, without having tracked data and examined it, I wouldn't have improved to where I am today--even though I still have some issues, I sleep a LOT better than I did before. The nice thing is that now that I feel like I have a handle and some knowledge about my sleep patterns, I only download and check the data every couple of weeks. And I still use my Zeo every night so that if I have a really bad night, I can take a minute and think about what was different--caffeine late in the day, eating patterns, exercise, whatever. It's one more piece of information to use and sometimes I get some ideas about more ways to modify behavior that impacts sleep.

I don't even really think about my Zeo any more--it's just one more piece of equipment I put on at night, like my mask.

So does the Zeo display it's data on the screen? It would be nice to start the day without downloading anything!

Yes, it does. Gives you a graph, selectable stats, etc. There is some history available on the display but I don't recall just how much. I don't use it much. I just pop out the card and put it my computer and upload the info to the site to read. It's just like reading your S9 data only the program is on their site (in the cloud as they say now) instead of on your computer. If you want to download the info on the card to store on your computer, you just select "download data" on the site. Otherwise, the data is stored on the card and on the site. Boy, that sounds like a lot of double-talk, but I'm sure you get the idea.
So, yes, look at the display, or upload and look at the site with the additional bells and whistles. (coaching, more graphs, history, trends, etc.)

Jay

BTW, there is also an Iphone app to display your uploaded data. Be cool to take to the Dr's Office. Don't have an Iphone, so don't know too much, but I don't think the phone will talk directly to the display (yet).

How does it detect your sleeping position?

It doesn't, Jay plugged that in from the video portion of his home lab. I don't see why they can't incorporate something in the headband sensor that would be fairly accurate though.

I'm getting closer to pulling the trigger on one of these.

I turned 40 last month and boy do I feel like it

Maybe this will help me

Does anyone know if that large display can be turned off or dimmed right down? I sleep with no light glare in my bedroom.

Yes, you can dim it several levels or turn it off completely. The display has light levels from 0 to 8. I keep mine at 1 at night so I can see it but it doesn't really cast any light. 8 is pretty bright and easy to see even in the sun.

For you Zeo fans. Headband Info.
Here's some interesting info on the headband/sensor from the Zeo forum. http://www.myzeo.com/sleep/forums/headbandwireless
First, the 90 days is arbitrary. The Zeo will signal to replace the sensors at that point, but it is strictly based on being in use for 90 days. That signal is resetable with or without a new sensor. People are reporting up to 60 days longer usage.
People are using rubbing alcohol to clean. Zeo say OK.
People are reading the impedance of their sensors to determing effectiveness. I'm not sure how, but it seems to be available in the data. Zeo says yes that should work, but the impedance reading is not a strictly reliable measure of sensor condition.
People are replacing the cloth sensors with adhesive sensors that have the same snap connection, apparently with good results. Zeo say yes, they're working on it, but not ready to market.

I'd love to hear some of the things you've learned from your Zeo.
