Sorry, my confusion. The color legends are overview only.

Tom W wrote:Does SleepyHead indicate how long each apnea lasts?

If so, is there a way to determine the average apnea duration for a specific period?
One can zoom in on the flow and event close enough to count the seconds.
If you click on the Events tab on the left side and then click on say.. OAs you get a list of the events with time of scoring. The number in parenthesis next to each individual event will be very close to event duration if you manually count the seconds. Close but not exact since it is kinda hard to see onset and ending with the flag in the middle (sort of)

No way to determine average other than manual get close by those numbers in parenthesis adding and averaging.

Since Pro doesn't score duration of events...machine doesn't give score an exact duration that we are aware of..hard to come up with exact but you can come up with a close.

The number in parenthesis will sometimes show less than 10 but supposedly we need 10 seconds for an event to be flagged...so unsure just what is going on but I spent a lot of time the other day zooming in real close so I could count the seconds and it is close. When the parenthesis number showed 45 ... I was real close to a 45 second event.
I looked at a lot of them both short and long duration (based on flow) and the numbers in parenthesis are very close.
Not exact but only off by maybe 2 or 3 seconds and that could have been just my eyeballing the onset and ending being off. It is hard to tell exact time of onset when up that close in time. The line doesn't vary much.

So you can come close manually. The machine or software doesn't offer what you ask for in an easy to obtain format.

Click on the "events" tab in the daily view. Click on the type of event. The number on the right in parenthesis appears to be what the PRS1 machine reports as the duration of the apnea.

I believe that SleepyHead simply reports what the machine records as the duration.

You can also click on the particular event and it should automatically zoom to the correct part of the waveform. I think it's important to look at the waveform if you're trying to determine how severe the event is. On my PRS1 machine, the "duration" of the event often includes a lot of time where I'm actually breathing fairly well. Just because it says you had a 45 second "apnea" doesn't mean you weren't breathing for 45 seconds.

Here's a 47 second "apnea" shown by my machine. Even though "something" is happening for 47 seconds, I only stopped breathing for 5 or 10 seconds at a time and took at least a partial breath 8 times or so.

If you have a hard time seeing the time scale, it's about 2.5 minutes long.

Note that it's the CPAP machine generating the numbers. SleepyHead is just reporting what the machine says.

Jedimark, will Sleepyhead ever have the nice table that Encore has where it shows all the statistics by pressure level? I have a ResMed device, and really envy the Encore folks as they have that one table that shows all the different statistics by pressure level.

Just curious if that might be in the works for a future version.

So I'm trying to convert a friend who's CPAP is giving her fits into a dedicated datahead, but I'm having a problem with the card and getting the data imported correctly.

The card has a P-series folder, but all that's inside it are a number of 1K files. That seems wrong to me.

I do the import in SH, and it says it "Finished Importing data 1", but it doesn't actually import anything.

Advice?

Here's the error log:

What is the exact model name for the machine? Or exact model number on the bottom of the machine..will be something like 150, 250, 450 or 550.. might have DS letters at front or end.

Are you saying you are seeing only files with the .001 extension way down the line in the last folder?

And which SleepyHead version are you trying to use? If 0.8.5... must select the folder above P series folder which essentially makes it the disk itself.

Yes, that is exactly what I am saying, well...sorta...they're actually .000 files, but close enough.

It's a Phillips System one. Model 250P

A few lines from the properties file:
ProductType=0x33
DataFormat=UDF
DataFormatVersion=2

Strangely, her machine doesn't seem to be giving her any info on AHI or leak or the like either. I don't know if the provider has it crazy locked down or what.

I believe that is the System One REMStar Plus with C-Flex, which does not provide any data except how long it was used.
Unfortunately I got saddled with one also, for now.

Good Luck!

It won't. There is no lock out.

The machine only gathers hours of use. That is why only the .001 files. That is what is in there.
It is the PR System One Remstar Plus with CFlex and it will never offer more than how many hours the machine has been used.
Yes it has data on that SD card but the only data it has is how many hours the machine is used each night.
Nothing else.
Time to read Janknitz blog about "Help I have been stuck with a brick" scroll down just a little on this page to spot it.
http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/

Your friend may have some options depending on how long they have had the machine.

So sorry but there is no meaningful data to glean from this machine no matter what software we use. No AHI, no leak, no nothing.......

Hi,

I have uploaded another windows build, fixing quite a few problems with the last one.
Still a pre-beta. But hey, at least it's now getting called pre-beta instead of alpha.

Here is the full version including all the DLL's.. Unzip and enjoy.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyh ... p/download

And here's just the zipped binary for those who already have the DLL's and know how to use it.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyh ... p/download

It should be ok with your previous data. But as usual for this pre-release software, be prepared to delete the (SleepApp) data folder and start fresh if things don't work out for you (and then you can check out the new intro wizard in that case.)

On top of fixing bugs, it adds a few new features to play with.
  • MultiUser support.. has passwords too.. but purely for cosmetics, not for security, as no data is encrypted. (For keeping the kids out, nothing more)
Preference tab is cleaned up.. Now has a Fonts tab (currently allowing for changing everything but the HTML content bits)
Pie chart is back.. Hopefully with the Graph Snapshots Qt crash bug fixed.. It's still off by default just in case. (turn it on in preferences)
Oximetry is still there, the tab doesn't load by default.. It's still as neglected as before.
There's a chart in Summary for PRS1 users that shows Humidifier & Flex settings (just the level for now)
Caveats
Still can only do basic overview page printing sorry.. Working on the graph layout system still.. When that's done, it will make the reporting bit much easier.
Delete profile doesn't work. It will at least give a clue how to though.
Graph color bit in preferences doesn't save. It does at least allow you to play, but the graph layout bit will see this bit completely redone.
There are plenty of other annoyances.. I just can't bring them to mind right now.

Have fun..

/Mark

Thanks Arch, that's good to here.

I'm shifting my focus to oximetry next, as it's been quite neglected.. I only just realized how neglected, it's a little flaky..

Hopefully next time round the oximetry side of things will work better. In the meantime, please don't be surprised if that bit doesn't behave properly.

I also didn't mention the "Graph Snapshots" (PieChart) thing in preferences properly. I'm hoping the bug it warns about is fixed.. The print system uses the same feature, so if printing from overview page crashes for you, don't enable the Graph Snapshot feature (otherwise it will crash on startup and you will have to create a new profile (or just edit the Profile.xml file and turn it off manually))

I'd like to hear from anyone who experiences a crash with the print/graph snapshot feature. (I think it will only happen on some older WinXP machines now)
