FYI, I just released a new version of Onkor, but although there were a lot of changes, there weren't many differences to your descriptions/pics above, so I think everything you mentioned is still 100% valid.

I will give your new version a try this evening or tomorrow. I am really liking the options users have. Especially since EncoreViewer and Pro can be problematic for some. I especially like the zoom since ResMed offered it and we couldn't do it.

Leaving for the surgery shortly.

I am on the down hill slide. Got one pin removed couple of days ago and another to be removed next Thurs and then hopefully a splint. The pins have caused continual stabbing pain.
This whole thing has messed with my sleep big time. None of it good.

Unintentional leak is EXCESS leak above the normal intentional leak or vent rate for each mask at any given pressure.

Intentional leak is the normal vent rate. It will increase as pressure increase and full face masks will usually have a higher vent rate than a nasal pillow or over the nose mask at any given pressure. Just more volume of space in the full face mask.

EDIT....Total leak is Excess leak plus vent rate.
When we look at Respironics leak reports we have to first look at how it is reported before commenting on leak line.
If it is total leak..it might look bad compared to ResMed leak but ResMed subtracts vent rate prior to reporting so it always reports unintentional or vent rate.
Respironics has a choice on leak reporting in Pro software.
SleepyHead and Onkor report total leak so we have to back out the vent rate to see the excess leak.

I checked out the software for Mac. It does NOT work on any older (PPC chip) Mac (OS10.5 or lower). It only works on Macs with the Intel chip .

I assume you are talking about SleepyHead since it is the only one that has a Mac version.

Is there any way you can get your hands on an old computer that would have an operating system that is supported? Doesn't even have to have internet capabilities....I could send the software to you on a disk.

Great thread! I just started on CPAP this week and downloaded SleepyHead the first day. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug in the software as the detail pane where the graph info should be does not show up for me no matter what I do or which tab I'm on.

Has anybody else experienced this? Any workarounds? Would love to give that Encore program a try to see if it works for me.

Barring any installation issues, what's the consensus on what software is best for the PR System One? How do the reports compare between programs?

I have a new Win 7 64 bit laptop with built-in SD card reader. I also have an XP machine with a SanDisk multi-reader.

From reading a few posts it seems like in order of priority, my best options would be:
1. Sleepyhead
free, easy to install, good reports

2. EncoreBasic
I read that this is a newer version of EncoreViewer 2.0 but not available for sale because you can change the pressure settings.

3. EncoreViewer 2.0
Win 7 64 bit install issues but there are workarounds.

4. EncorePro
A behemoth of a program designed for DME providers that uses Microsoft SQL server to manage a database. May be overkill for the home user.

I need to update my PR S1 software options to include EncoreBasic.

EncoreBasic will work with the new PR S1 60 series machine as well as backwards compatible with the older machines. It will install on Win 7 64 bit computers without any special work arounds. It also will install on older computers as well as 32 bit computers. It also works well with the older machines that require the DT 3500 card reader.

It does include wave form graphs for the machines that offer wave form (PR S1 machines). Given that it isn't the bloated hog that Pro is and given that it offers every bit the same data reports as Pro..there is zero need for Pro now.

SleepyHead offers the same data that Encore offers but it is presented visually differently.
It also has some data available that Encore does not offer but the machines gather (respiration, volume, etc) which is interesting but may or may not be all that critical to know.

I have used multiple versions of EncoreViewer and Pro in the past 3 years...my preference is SleepyHead. It is immensely faster to use and I just like the presentation better along with the zooming in on stuff which is so darn easy.
SleepyHead is NOT compatible with any Respironics machine requiring the DT 3500 card reader though.
Those people can use EncoreBasic though and if they ever upgrade to one of the PR S1 machines they will already have software they can use. Side note..with any Encore software you cannot mix machines so different machines require different user profiles. SleepyHead doesn't care. You can have multiple machines and even different brand of machines with one user profile.
