I think if you subscribe to this topic you will get notice of posts. Look at the bottom of page for subscribe thing.
You can also set your board profile to be notified of posts in a thread that you create.

where do I find the memer control panel

When logged in to forum look at the upper left corner, not quite to the top for the User Control Panel.
