I used tap water as well on my recent trip to Paris. Haven't died yet!
I was at the Hotel Ibis on Rue Cambronne.

Sorry I didn't catch this thread earlier!
You will have no problem using EAU DEMINERALISEE in your humidifier, but if you don't want to lug around a 5 litre jerry can, my local CPAP support group recommends CRYSTALLINE mineral water (the flat version - eau plate) as it has very little chemical residue that might deposit in the water chamber.

I used eau demineralisée most of the time I was in France last year. For a few nights I had to use municipal tapwater in the Loire Valley. I had no problems whatsoever.
It is good to know which brands of bottled water can be used in a pinch - Crystalline is very high quality and relatively low price at the supermarket and is available everywhere in France (pretty much).
Maybe we should start a new thread for CPAP à la français!
