The fact that Resmed ships the take apart tank everywhere but the good old USA tells me it's purely profit driven.

I genuinely feel sorry for anyone who is on the hose who doesn't know about or at least lurk on this group. The amount of usable information is amazing.

I bought the cleanable tank from local DME; copay was MORE than the entire price at CPAP.com.
Guess where I'm getting DH's tank.

I suspect it was a marketing ploy targeted at the American 'throw-away' society. If Resmed is listening, I hope they'll take this tip: ditch the disposable tank. Has anyone seen an Autoset in a hospital setting? They keep their existing machines forever because hardly anyone uses them. Reuseable/washable is better and more 'eco-friendly' - even in a hospital. It never hurts to get with the 'green' side of things. Also, the baffle should also be designed to come out. As far as I can tell, it's not designed to be removed from the dishwasher safe one.

Interesting post. My S9 container is like a little tupperware thingy and comes apart easily. Did not realise there were others that would not, for the same machine. Funny that, it seems very inconvenient cleaningwise. Glad you solved the problem!
