Boy, there's a lot of soppy cat stories here!
My advice--get a dog!

Robysue,
Of COURSE you can't lock the cat out. Apart from any other considerations, an unhappy cat on the other side of the door can easily make sure you get no sleep at all.
It sounds like the System One's buttons are just as well configured for a cat's convenience as the M series buttons. After years of coexisting happily with my M series cpap my cat suddenly decided that it was the perfect size and shape for her to perch on during the night and I woke up several nights running to that nasty feeling of not getting enough air. By the time I figured out what had happened, found the cpap and then the on button, I was pretty thoroughly awake. I eventually got smart and turned on the Auto On feature. It detects my breathing and turns the machine back on again automatically before I wake up. I would hope that your machine has a similar setting.
I want a cat proof button cover for the next redesign.

I have a siamese cat (male - neutered). He sleeps under the covers next to my feet and I have had no problems for the moment with him switching off my PRS1!
He does like in the morning (when he notices I am beginning to wake up) to lie on me, sniffing at my mask
I couldn't imagine not having him with me!

MittenKitten was a perfect lady and never did a thing wrong at any time during her 14 years. After all this while and w/all these cats she is still sorely missed.
I think, however, that these Triplets are going to be a long standing package of amusement and joy in an entirely different way. Genteel they are not. Lady-like they are not. They are hoydens who see all the fun things in life and want to try them all.
