CPAP problem

Post by SC » Thu Mar 17, 2011 11:47 am

I seem to be having a problem with my Virtuoso LX Smart CPAP. It doesn't happen every night, but one or two nights a week it will start beeping in the middle of the night. During these times it continues to operate properly and then the beeping stops on it's own within a few seconds. Other times for no apparent reason I get a constant beeping sound and the machine stops working. To get it going again I need to unplug and plug the power back in and then everyone is okay. Has anyone experienced anything similar. No problem taking it back for another one, this one is at least 6 years old and I'm 10 years into using a CPAP. I'm mainly interested in knowing if the problem is machine related or perhaps it has something to do with my settings or even a leak. Anyway thanks for the response,

Steve

In your machine, there are settings to warn about large leaks and at some point, if the large leak does not stop, the machine will turn off.......if the settings are set to do so. It sounds like your machine is set to sound an alarm because it's detecting a large leak.......and then the leak stops and it keeps running. If the leak is not sealed, the machine will turn itself off. These settings can be changed in the "Setup".
Many/most of the newer machines have these features, too. I prefer NOT to be awakened if I have a large leak and I don't want my machine turning itself off......so, I configure my machines' settings accordingly.
