Not sure I want to hear from manufacturers like Resmed and Respironics who think the DMEs are their customers. I'd be more interested in hearing from Devilbiss, who may actually think WE are the customers.

Yes, especially when we all show up at their house for dinner so we can find out what they say about us!

I actually had an experience like the one that is being proposed.

On another forum, a top manufacturer of products in the field being discussed (tile setting of all things) offered to provide a training class to about 20 board members. (This class is usually only for good clients.) They paid for all expenses (hotel, food, etc.) except for transportation to Greenville, SC. (That's where the Tile Council of North America is headquartered in case you were wondering.)

It was a blast. Meeting people that I only knew from an online presence was very interesting. Most people were nothing like the mental image I had conjured up in my head. It cemented many friendships and was cause for several late-night drinking affairs. (I won't mention the people who were tossed from the hotel lobby for drinking beer there. They know who they are. And I only know about this due to hearsay, yeah, that's it, hearsay. )

I don't know if we could find a way to get ResMed to pay for it, but such a gathering would be a great experience.

And if you need tile-setting advice from some of the most knowledgeable folks in the field, from a forum that claims to be the friendliest on the web, go to http://www.johnbridge.com and click on "Tile Forum".)

A CPAP.com seminar. Guest speakers and displays, charge admission, fit masks, flog merchandise, sell souvenir trinkets. A real hoot!
Wait, did I say charge admission?!

No, you didn't, but I think this project has slipped out or your control.

I did not mean a cruise! I meant like a weekend on land!

Great idea SU.
I would love to meet everyone in person.
And, of course, Houston sounds great to me.

OK, let's be honest. No one really wants to go to HOUSTON per se (no offense). We just want Johnny & Carolyn to join us, right?

Sounds like you might be from Austin.

Meeting in Houston and cruising out of Galveston would be fun. Any place that takes me away from the cold would be fine by me.
Bev, With the brand new and absolutely stunning Carnival Magic coming to Galveston in November I would suggest that itinerary exactly. Funny but I was just working on a group with my high school class on that same ship or the Carnival Dream out of Port Canaveral Florida. Port Canaveral would give members a chance to combine the cruise with a few days at the Disney Parks. The one problem with the Magic is that she is brand new and commanding huge prices. The Dream which is the the same ship but a year older has more reasonable prices. As a travel agent I would gladly offer my services to organize this trip.

I definitely wouldn't do a cruise. The most time (and money) I could commit to would be a weekend.

I wonder how the talkaboutsleep people funded their sleep conference. Muffy, did you go to it?

Okay, then, I'll go anywhere where I can get on a ship right after the reunion.
