Well, I don't know about the "good faith" part... but I believe you that you didn't do it TO embarrass anyone. Just bored and having some fun, huh?

So all the threads of valuable information are suddenly void. Why? Because a few high and mighty that weren't even around when this went on are full of yourselves.

You seem to be ignoring Rested Gal's posts indicating she has some negative feelings about what you did (if judging by her Smilies/emoticons, anger is one of them, and I imagine a host of other feelings).

How did I embarrass RG? By showing how knowledgible, caring, patient and intuitive she is. A great communicator!

She didn't say she was embarrassed, so I don't know if she was or not. I can only say that personally I do not like to be deceived and manipulated, and one of the reasons it makes me so angry is that being fooled makes me feel foolish. But that's just me.

Again, you're ignoring the feedback you've gotten from the people who were affected directly, and instead you're complaining that those who weren't affected directly have an opinion about what you did. If you're not interested with the latter group thinks, then spend more time addressing the former group, to whom I feel you owe more than just a brush off and saying that everyone benefited from your deception, including those who conveyed to you that they feel they wasted their time helping someone who didn't need help.

I should have just let it be and you would still be praising my friend Surly in India.

I hope you're not conveying those values to your children.

If you want to follow what -SWS has suggested. the following might help -

Making amends is a very powerful way to get rid of shame and guilt, and frees one up from burdens that no longer have to be carried. What the recipient does with the amends is not the main concern, it is doing the amends that heals us. Reparation is only part of it. A commitment not to repeat past mistakes, or at least to work towards that, nicely rounds off the process.

It seems that you didn't specify which watch. I'll guess on RG's. However, I might take some time since my mc is maxxed. Had to repair the magnetos AND the fuel pump. Monday I had a partial engine failure on T.O. at gross at night at a small airport in the boonies. Managed to make it around to land but I almost didn't make it. My life flashed before my eyes and when it was over Surly was standing there waving his finger at me. Not that finger the other. Haven't felt right since. Still trying to figure out how to get back to the plane to make repairs and fly back.

I'll start saving now. I should have the loot in about 60 years. See ya then. I saw a guy in a trench coat with some watches and jewelry. Would that do?

You obviously have no class and no knowledge of aviation history. This is the poem that is read at funerals and memorials. President Reagan recited it after the challenger disaster. Put it to rest.

Ok - you are probably gonna hate me for this, because it will sound sanctimonious, pontifical, arrogant and a load of crap you really did not want to hear, and I claim no great success for myself in doing this -

but it is simple -

what is good - is good

and what is bad - is bad.

and the hard part is looking at things in their separate parts, and not taking one part as the whole.

I will probably have to retire to my cave after this one, and get rid of the constipation I obviously have .
