its hard for me to tel to be honest... i think i must be one of the only people in the world with sleep apnea who has never sufferd with any kind of tiredness or lethargy! lol

Seriously.. i only went to the doctors with regards to my snoring... and ended up being tested and diagnosed with OSA..
But even before that i never needed any more than 4 or 5 hours a night to funtion perfectly the next day with no tiredness.... ive just never felt tired.. before or after i started Cpap..

So its kinda hard to draw comparisons as i think i feel pretty much the same..

as for sleep position, its the only thing i can think of that having such a big impact.... i do go to sleep on my side.... but fear i allways shift to my back.... :0(

Chivalry, to compare the results between the two masks you better run the machine in CPAP mode (and not APAP) and with the same set- up for pressure (set EPR = off. Setting EPR on full- time can often lead to instability in the airway.. )

BTW, the straight line for a leak in one of your graphs shows that something was wrong with the measurement.

Did they give you or can you get the PSG report? On there it'll tell you if your AHI is worse a) on your back and b) when you are in REM sleep. If it turns out to be positional sleep apnea then you're going to have to learn to side sleep all night.

I propose an experiment if you can find the time.

Hook everything up and wear the mask with machine on for a couple of hours at least. Watch TV, read a book anything but going to sleep.

Then look at your data and see what shows. Needs to be at least a couple of hours though unless the gale force winds start immediately...

If your leak rate was a flat zero, I'd be suspicious, but there is one blip. I have heard of ResMed machines that have a glitch and need to be reset if they are always showing a zero leak rate--even with the very best mask, that's impossible every night, all the time.
