Any SD card can work. It can even be formatted by a computer or a camera. But, if it has any non-Resmed files on it when it is inserted into an S9, the S9 will either complain, or it will initialize it for use in the S9. An S9 initialization (which the S9 calls "format") is very different from what format means in the computer world.

360, have you checked if there is a little slider lock switch on the side of your SD card?

If there is, it might just be in the "lock mode" which may prevent it from recording new data.

As to formatting if the card had other stuff on it from before then the S9 would ask you if it's ok to erase the info on the card and format it.

Ray is right.

The plot thickens. I get a SD USB reader, plug it in, all is going well, select detailed data, download starts and then the following pops up.

Error occurred during download
The current download was interrupted by a download fault

An error occurred during a download. the last session that was downloading will be incomplete. You may choose to either keep or discard the incomplete data.

Click,

Keep to keep the data
Discard to discard the data

Any suggestions?

I am beyond frustrated. I've got a huge leak issue and from what I can gather there is no way to pinpoint what I need to do before reading the charts.

At this point the best I can suggest is try reading your SD card on a different computer. If you have problems there you may have a bad card. If all works good on the other PC, then that points to your PC having some sort of hardware problem. Have you tried a different SD card yet?

I've seen that problem a few timess, 350. In each case, I simply shut ResScan down, removed the card, re-inserted the card, and tried again. In each case, it worked.

If the problem persists, you might try removing any other USB removable memory devices you might have connected. The ResScan manual mentions that some other devices can cause problems when connected at the same time. I think it was specific to Resmed adapters, but who knows. It might work.

Do you have any other device connected to a USB port in this computer?

We have a winner. Tried another computer of mine and that had less things attached via USB and it worked perfectly. I'll post the results in another post right after I figure out how to post the PDF doc.

Thanks a bunch to everyone who helped me out.
