First thing, you really don't want the Pro version of Encore. It is a real pain because it uses Microsofts SQL data base. You are much better off with Encore Basic that uses it's own data base and gives the same information. You will also need the special DT 3500 card reader and the driver. All this is dependent on what operating system you are using and which "M" series machine. If you have the "Plus" it won't record any data, if you have the Pro or Auto you are in good shape. If you will fill in the blanks on operating system and whether it is 32 or 64 bit and your machine I will be glad to help with the link to Encore Basic and the card driver.

I don't think that card reader will work but give it a try.
As far as we have ever found the only smart card reader that would work with the M series machines was the Mako Infineer DT3500.
So if the software can't find your smart card or card reader then that likely is the problem.
Cheapest place I have ever found it on the internet was $40 plus 6.50 S/H.

I would love to take a look at Encore Basic too. I have been on CPAP for a couple of weeks now and have Sleepyhead running. AHI has dropped consistently since I started and I think I'm doing OK. But I'd like to compare the data in Encore as I have a follow up with my Doctor in July so I want to make sure I'm seeing what she's seeing. Can someone PM me a link?
OS: Windows 8 64-bit
Device: System One RemStar Auto with A-Flex (560P)

I am a new to all this and would like to see the details of my sleep data for my own education. I have a Respironics M Series BiPAP Auto with the smart card and am considering upgrading to the System One BiPAP Auto with an SD card. My computer is Windows 7 64-bit.
What would be the best software for me to use to review sleep data from these machines and where should I go to get it?
Thank You,
David

If you have Windows, you can use either SleepyHead or Encore Basic. For Mac and Linux
your only choice is SleepyHead.
'
If you can use both, try them out and see which you like.
If you look two posts up, you'll see links to SleepyHead and Pugsy's Pointers for SleepyHead
in her signature. Note that the verision labelled "current" at the top of the page is not
the current version. The current version (0.9.3) is in the list lower on the page.
As for Encore Basic, I'll send you a PM.

My understanding is that Sleepyhead will not work on the "M" Series because it uses the old large Smart Card and must have the Mako DT-3500 card reader which Sleepyhead will not recognize. I think Encore Basic is your only option but you will need the Mako DT-3500 Card Reader and driver.

You are correct. SleepyHead only works with machines that use SD cards.
Thanks for catching that.

None of the Encore software products will install on a Windows 8 computer.
There is a conflict in the installer.
Encore Basic can be made to run on Windows 8 computer though. The work around is to install it on a Win 7 or older computer and manually copy it to the Win8 computer...Bypass the installer and it will work.
Encore Pro...will not install on Win 8 computers and there is no way to copy it to make it work due to the PITA SQL server thing that Pro uses.
