SU, I don't let him read everything! I was joking and I do not let him near unless I am with him! You have to admit some of the stuff on the forum is really G rated! He is also an ex-cpap user but he was one of the lucky ones that when he grew into his weight he tested out of cpap and knows most of what the forum deals with!

My recent flopping jokes aside, I am still fairly certain you'd have trouble finding two others here who would agree that I need to lighten up and joke more than I do. If anything, I should probably be more serious.

My boy is 15 with a good head on his shoulders who probably knows more at his age than I did back then (maybe even now). The challenge I have with him is the teens today are extremely knowledgeable. So if he asks I have to do my best to answer (age appropriately) and show him that even though something is funny, there really is a time and place for everything. Most of this thread is really clean and it shows that we don't have to be vulgar to have fun!

I got beautiful flowers today. And the man who gave them to me is super handsome. He is tall. Smart. Has a great sense of humor. Of course he is only 5, but still. It counts!

I also now have like, 5 pounds of chocolates from my students. Most of which I pawned off on my Dad. I don't need the calories.

I ate one of those gummy life savers that are dipped in sugar. It made my eyes roll back in my head, it was so good.

Also it helps if you balance your diet. Dark chocolate is positive, white is negative; they cancel.

And broken cookies don't have calories; they leak out.

Does "grew into his weight" mean thinned out (i.e., stopped being overweight)? From what age did he use CPAP?

Ok everyone, I have to put looking for a hairy chested man on hold for a little bit so you are gonna have to keep me entertained with funny stories out here. I have to study for my new job so I can't be out running the streets!

Yes I'm going to still be out here but just not hunting for a man!
SU, My boy was about 4' 9"- 4' 11" in 5th grade and weighed 140 lbs. He had no neck and was often ridiculed about being the "fat" kid. Between 7th and 8th grade he had grown to 5' 6" still weighing 140 lbs and at a recheck with the sleep doc, she flipped out at how tall and "skinny" he was and he also had a long neck. She scheduled another sleep study and said he didn't need the machine anymore. We will still monitor him but the doc thinks he was extremely over weight and "out grew the problem". I know that most of the time that isn't true and I would have never stopped the cpap without doc's advice or the test and I will probably have him tested again this summer just to be sure. Btw, he is still growing to date by leaps and bounds (clothing and food ) and is 5' 8 1/2" wears a size 12-13 shoe and seems to be all arms and legs like a puppy!

Goofy, that's great about your son. CPAP is so difficult for so many to tolerate that I can't imagine putting a kid through all the trials and tribulations of it.
