I just got a Quattro FX from CPAP.COM. I'm looking forward to using it tonight. It seems to fit really good. I got the insurance in case I don't like it. Was I supposed to get a return box and returns sticker? I got charged for return insurance. I will post back in a few days and let you all know my opinion. I have been waking up with my mouth open with the comfort fusion nasal mask sometimes even when using a chin strap so I think it's time to try the full face thing again and put a little more effort into it this time.

David, it beats me why you need CPAPing at all? Your AHI and events are low, but you snore a bit. Your hi pressure was probably titrated to stop the snoring.

From what stage in the ResScan have you transfered the graphs to photobucket?

I have been using the mask for about ten days. I can get a good leak free fit when I go to bed. I'm a side sleeper and during the night I develop leaks around the bridge of my nose. Pretty sure the mask is shifting when I'm on my side. I have to refit a few times a night. Being a lite sleeper this isn't helping the quality of sleep.

I have a memory foam pillow which I modified to by cutting out a square on the right and left bottom corners. It is now shaped like a T to allow the side of my face to hang over. This has helped a little, also added a folded towel in the pillow case to raise it up.

The bridge of my nose is slim, medium mask with the medium headgear. Will ask for a large headgear.

I'm going to try the swing method with the air on to see if this helps. I may tighten the straps a little more to see if this helps.

What kind of pillow are you side sleepers using?

I am using a very flat, squishy down pillow that I can push away from the mask a bit when I am side sleeping (obviously can't do this as I turn during the night, but when I start the night out I do).

I use a memory foam pillow but tend to hang the mask off the side when I side sleep.

I'm one who has had very good luck with getting this mask to seal -- leak lines are pretty much zeros all night long.
I only fit the mask now with air on and it "fully inflated".
I can also tell you though that I seem to get much better seals and the mask seems to be much more tolerant of position changes the looser I set the straps. I've got therm set now so that if I can easily slide my pinky finger under the mask seal on the sides and bottom (yeah it'll leak when I do but immediately seal back when I pull it out). As for the nose bridge it seems as though the seal is bulging out the top which is what I think allows it to conform to my nose. I've never had an nose leak with this -- only bottom leaks.

Some of the images can't be seen anymore, but the important data is there.

I'm still working on the mask and once I have it 'right' I'll be sure to post pictures of what I did.

Is it comfortable now, because last you wrote it was sometimes hurting you? Hmmm, I can try looser again...

Yes much, much more so. This mask is now well past tolerable and is actually approaching the comfortable stage.
When I wrote that comment I still had all of the straps cranked down a bit -- the tops are now real loose (a LOT looser than before) and bottom ones a bit looser than before. No longer getting pressure indentations on the nose in the mornings at all and the bottom is much less prone to leaking with jaw drop.

Have you seen the blog by user Janknitz where he/she talks about taming the Quattro Mirage?
The fitting instructions they give for making the Mirage work seem to apply even more so to the FX.
Worth looking at if you have a chance. I think they may help folks make this mask work.

Is anyone else successfully using a Quattro FX that is sitting bigger than the recommended mid-nose bridge? I had been working with the Small, but I just messed around with the Medium, and I think I'm going to try it even though it sits higher than mid-bridge. It didn't leak during my trials now when I was awake, but I've learned that means nothing. When I remove it I can see a faint indentation at mid-bridge, but when I look in a mirror at my profile with the mask on, it is sitting as high as the picture that shows a mask that is too big! But it sealed, and I haven't yet been successful with the Small, so I guess I'll give it a go.

Let me know how the medium goes. I am still using the small and it seems to fit somewhat better or perhaps I am getting better at putting it on. My leaks are 0.06 each night. But I still sometimes feel like the cushion is ever so slightly compressing my nasal passages and consequently encouraging mouth breathing. So I wonder how the medium would fit as I measure between sizes as well.

The thing about relying on what the machine says my leaks were is that I can be awakened with it leaking into my eyes, and still the machine says my leaks were OK. How OK can it be if it's enough to wake me?! I am a light sleeper, but still.

What wakes you is probably the noise, and the feeling. What the machines reports as unacceptable leak is a leak that impacts its ability to maintain the pressure you need.

Those are entirely different things.

Definitely the feeling wakes me. Good point, though. It can probably stent my airway (and my eye) simultaneously. Maybe on CPAP of 8, my airway gets 7 cm of pressure and my eye gets 1cm.
