My thoughts were that having an exhale pressure of 4 (reduced 3 from 7) would be easier for him. During Inhale the pressure would be the full 7. I know when I started I could not even talk, and breathing out was an issue for me. My pressure is higher, but I got used to it and now don't even think about it when I have my mask on and try to talk.dianeQ wrote:Could you explain why?If I was working with him, I would turn ramp off, set pressure at 7, and set EPR at 3.
Thanks, Diane
Also getting him to become compliant at 7 will be easier than 11 where you are at now. Once that is not an issue for him I would increase the number back up to 11 (in baby steps). EPR of 3 may be the way to get him to accept the process no matter what pressure he is at. YMMV
