I have really been trying to make this mask work for me. There is much about it I like. I have spent hours adjusting and tweaking things. It is the correct size.... I have tried the SensaSeal and follow directions E-mailed to me by KC at HR. I cannot stop it from leaking when on my sides. Starts out fine, I fall asleep... then wake up a short time later with a leak at the nose. I will not give up and seek additional tips from sucessful HR users.

Thanks

Severeena here, being guested again. This is getting old.

First Newsgrouper, I am sorry you are having trouble with the Hans Rudolph. how lose are you wearing the head gear? This head gear ;must be tight, not lose like the Ultra Mirage. A lose head gear on the Hans Rudolph will cause the mask to leak.

inacpapfog, you have to know more than the DME about the Hans Rudolph and be able to stand up against a rep at the DME's so you can get what you need and want.

I have had to do this more and more.

Tom had to measure himself at the DME for his Hans Rudolph.

They do not want to educate themselves as to what this mask is all about.

For anyone interested there is a list of distributors available as a .pdf from the HR website http://www.rudolphkc.com. I would place it here with the message if I knew how, but alas....

If you can't find it, send me an email message to my private email and I will get it to you. It has all of their dealers worldwide including the USA.

I checked out the link that specifies the distributors. The closest one to my state is 3 states away! Can't I just order from the company?

Inacpapfog, I am sorry but the company will not let you order directly from them. You have to be a dealer.

I am contacting them on Monday to see if I can help with this situation.

I will PM you on this.

I am just before getting a full face mask.

I have asked the receptionist at American Home Patient to see if they can get me a Hans Rudolph and she said she would check it out. I go back Monday afternoon.

I have received the calipers from HR and have measured and fall on the line where small ends and medium starts. The brochure says if you fall in this category to go for the smaller. So I s'pose I will try for the small.

I am having so many problems with leaks from my Swift now. Never had this many leaks before. The only way to stop it is to tighten the straps so much that it makes my face and head hurt. This has only started recently. Also seeps air where the small hose from mask joins the coupler to larger hose (whistles sometimes). So I am ready to try something different.

Went to MD last week and he agreed for me to try a ff mask. DME had faxed him for order for it and he would not fax back. When I went in he told me that the reason for this was that he wanted to talk to me first. Said "All too often, DME's will not try to work out what the problem is for a patient. They will just put you on a ff mask, rather to go to the trouble of trying other options." Any way he has ok'd it for a ff mask. I wanted one especially for when I get a cold. As I am sure I will. So I really want to try the HR. DME only had Resmed and Respironics. So I guess from your posts that if I can't get HR I should go with the Ultra Mirage.

Sounds as if the HR doesn't leak that it is a very comfortable mask, huh?

Guested Again!

Sorry!

Elliejose, American Home Patient will not handle the Hans Rudolph. You will have to ask your insurance company who your durable medical equipment people are. There should be more than just American Home Patient.

I know because American Home Patient is the one that I am renting my S7 Lightweight from.

Hans Rudolph availability

Just received an e-mail back from Hans Rudolph inc. They will deal with any DME who wants to deal with them. No minimum order - DME can order one mask at a time if they want. They also gave me two internet sets that sell their masks: CPAPshop.com and CPAPman.com. Both sell mask for around $210. This seems expensive but is an option.

The rep also said he would help me find a dealer in my area if I gave him my zip code. I just wonder what the DME would charge for the mask since I have a 20% copay.

Company seems really customer friendly, just wish their masks were available at this site since they have the lowest prices I have seen on the internet and great customer service. Oh well, I will post any progress I make on getting this mask.

CPAPUSA has the best price on the HR FF mask that I have found, $189.90. Mark Brinkerhoff runs the store and is very helpful.
