Madalot, you've got way too much on your plate to take anything that anyone else says personally...hard as it may be to start doing this, ignore it and don't respond as responding only eggs 'em on to more ugly behavior. You are an inspiration to so many here, I for one would hate to see you leave.

You're very sweet and kind. I keep telling myself when I log off the computer at night, that I'm not coming here for a while. But then I get an email that I got a PM or a reply to a thread I posted in, so I come in and look. And then I feel the need to reply to those that have been so kind and helpful to me, like you. So here I am, several days after saying ENOUGH, and I'm still here and posting. Maybe somebody is trying to tell me something.

Many of you have had such wonderful words of wisdom and encouragement -- thanks.

To those that are waiting to hear what I find out about the F&P valves --

I just called my DME to check in. My contact said she hadn't heard back from the employee that was supposed to make the call, but would check in with him and get back to me today.

Whatever I find out, I'll post.

And I for one, am glad you are still here.

I don't know the whole situation, nor do I need to, but I'm wondering if it might just be possible to stay active in the forums, and just take a break from chat. You can see that you are greatly appreciated here in the forums (just read some of the replies on this post!). If you still do need a break, then we will all understand. I just thought I'd offer a possible compromise.

I know you will be missed if you do indeed need to take a break, and you will be welcomed back with open arms whenever you do come back.

Madalot,
I'm thinking the delay in hearing back comes from your DME. When I was having problems with the valve leaking I emailed Fisher and Paykel and they responded within a couple of hours with an authorization to hand to my DME for them to give me a replacement valve. By the end of the day I had the valve replaced.
Try contacting them directly instead of waiting for the DME.

Thank you, again, for the kind words. Your compromise may work and I CAN still chat if it's safe to be there. Maybe. Perhaps. Hmmm....I'm really not sure, but will definitely consider it.

You might be right on this. I have 3 masks and all 3 valves do the same thing. In this situation, especially considering the 431 is the ONLY mask I have been able to use consistently and considering I'm on a flipping ventilator, I'm hoping that F&P will see fit to replace all 3 valves to make me "good" again.

But if my DME doesn't get something done soon, I will take your suggestion and contact F&P myself.

Thank you!
