I agree this timeframe is not right at all.

I had my sleep study on a sunday (i was able to make it a split night study), and saw my doc 8 days later for the results.
I was fitted with my machine and mask right then and there at my results appointment - since the DME was onsight that day..

I think you can expect and receive much better service.

They knew what I was doing: no more back sleeping, sleeping with a baby monitor so someone could come wake me if my breathing got too weird, and I'd been sleeping propped up 'cause of my chronic congestion issues for several yrs prior.
