These unsettling times really have an impact on sleep, nerves, ability to focus, decision making, etc.
Best wishes to all of those who are troubled that everything will turn out well, and maybe surprisingly have a better and unexpected outcome. The transition is difficult and sometimes painful. Been there, doing that!
I think the holidays add an extra dimension of emotional stress too.

Wishing you the best of luck in finding something soon.
I know I admire waitress a great deal -- I tried it one time in high school and ended up dumping scalding hot coffee in some guys lap. We were doing a fundraiser for the German Club I belonged to -- and after that I was delegated to the dishwashing area!!
That memory still haunts me today (that was back in 71).
I admire your courage and tenacity.
One day at a time -- if that is too much to handle take it one minute at a time.

Sending good thoughts your way, BlackSpinner, regarding your upcoming job interview and everything else! Glad to read that the stress is easing up just a bit. Life does have a way of working itself out, but it sure can be difficult to see the bigger picture when hit with multiple "crises" at once!

Blackspinner, honey, I think that LOTS of excellent stuff is going to come out of this stressful time for you and those you love. Sort of like giving birth, it's stressful & messy & painful, but worth it in the end. Sending good thoughts your way...

This is just a vent/rant. Have to do it somewhere and the family is not on this list!
Sleeping is down to 4 hours a night and I.Can't.Sleep.IN!!!
Thank the gods for my cpap machine that when I do sleep at least I get good sleep!
Whenever I have sleeping issues from stress ... which is often lately ... I count myself still lucky remembering the times before I ever had a cpap ... Sleeping 8 hours and still falling asleep while driving to work with my 3rd cup of coffee in my hand every single day ... or falling asleep standing up at a computer terminal floor station. The final straw was when I was driving home on a rural road and woke up still driving but veering off the road onto the shoulder where a woman was walking about 50 feet ahead ... the look on her face scared the s**t out of me ... and I had a sleep study (2001)
I recently had a 4 month period where I never slept longer than 4 or 5 hours ... usually 4 or less ... Honestly I would have turned down a weekend in Cabo with Zooey Deschannel for a solid nights sleep ... and I really like Zooey Deschannel. My Dr. gave me an rx for ambien and I rejoiced after that 7.5 hour sleep.

It could be a lot worse. It could be you waking up in the Yukon in the middle of February!
