Keep breathing.
The sun will rise tomorrow.
You never know what the tide will bring.

There is that ...at least you know you can do the damned work and ya don't have to prove intellectual competence over and over again.
I don't know what miserable stars are influencing us but it seems you & I wander into stressful times at similar times. I'd say be glad ya had those interviews, 'cause since my layoff Mar '09 I haven't even had 1 & neither have any of my also laidoff friends, but that's too depressing to think about ya know? I get up each day and remind myself that this is new day and how I chose to experience is
my choice. That and I take omega 3 EFAs
I am so sorry all that other stuff is occurring at the same time...you have my sympathy and best wishes for restful sleep to return!

Hi BlackSpinner
I reckon the main thing is always to have friends who support you...........and these you have.
There are a lot of supportive posts here and the only thing I can add, which you already know..........is..........
Never say "I can't stand this".
Because you can - one "bite" .....and one day ....... at a time
And thinking about your interest in fashion - I couldn't resist posting -

BlackSpinner, I'm so sorry to hear you have to go through this and hope things start looking up for you. You will make it through this. I always got the feeling that you are a very strong person when reading your posts. I will be sending good thoughts your way. Good Luck. I think a waitress job would be fun too.

Ha! Boy do I ever recognize that! I guess no matter how grown they get we still feel the need to be the strong one.
In a similar situation myself now, but I'm having the opposite problem - can't make myself get concerned or motivated enough to try to make something happen. Mid January I have no idea where I'll be living, and need a fire lit under me. Can we both reach a happy medium?
You can do this. The turmoil is temporary. Here's a link to a song that's been stuck in my head for a couple weeks, since the crew here wrote and recorded it and I heard it 50 times in one weekend. The message is good. Go to the link then scroll down to the the song Unstoppable and click Play.
Hang in there.

Seriously, I can only imagine the kind of stress you're dealing with. Must seem like, "What NEXT?" at times.
Thinking all good things for you!

the poet Robert Frost wrote:
The Armful
For every parcel I stoop down to seize
I lose some other off my arms and knees,
And the whole pile is slipping, bottles, buns --
Extremes too hard to comprehend at once,
Yet nothing I should care to leave behind.
With all I have to hold with hand and mind
And heart, if need be, I will do my best
To keep their building balanced at my breast.
I crouch down to prevent them as they fall;
Then sit down in the middle of them all.
I had to drop the armful in the road
And try to stack them in a better load.
Wishing you the very best, BlackSpinner.
And you too, Kathy.

Things are feeling a bit better.
My daughter has things under control now - innumerable Excel spreadsheets have been created as she gets organized and gets quotes on everything. The granddaughter has had her major melt down and seems to have accepted the inevitable. Promises of a new wardrobe seemed to have helped (part of the relocation package).
This weekend is very busy as I have promised to help organize the christmas fair of the group I belong too. It will keep my focused for the next few days. My art work is in the fundraising auction.
Monday I start a determined job hunt for a retail or waitress position and galleries. (and boxes)
Thanks everyone for your emotional support. You guys and gals are truly wonderful!

Good to hear things are coming together, BlackSpinner. Yes, an appealing relocation package is what makes a move worthwhile to both young and old(er).
Ozij, thank you for the reminder of the poem The Armful. Hadn't thought about it in a long time, though I memorized it long ago and it helped me through a difficult transitional time of "starting over". The words helped me feel that this could be a good thing. Timely reminder.

Not much I can add to the articulate and empathic comments made by everyone else. Black Spinner, Kathy, Echo, the strength and determination you all display in the face of adversity inspires me to tackle the things I am grappling with. Good luck with everything, and keep us posted.
