The fact that the Encore software doesn't show clock times is a major problem for me since I'm still fighting insomnia---both bedtime (why I'm still up at 2:00 am tonight) and now I'm also waking up at night too. And I don't typically look at the clock when I go to bed or when I wake up at night.
So are there any rumors at all about whether Resmed will release an S9 VPAP anytime soon?
The PRS1 has an option (in the clinician control) to set the number of hours offset from GMT, for example CST is —6. Then the EV2.0 printout shows the correct clock time.
It looks like Encore Viewer doesn't even tell you how long each of the apneas is. That correct?
That is correct regarding EncoreViewer 2.0. You can get a rough idea of duration by looking at the pressure curve, i.e., how long the pressure continues increased before returning to baseline, but that is very crude. AFAIK, Encore Pro 2.2 does reveal that data. It can display the inspiratory and expiratory flow as a waveform.

Very good points, JohnBFisher, as usual.
While the Encore Viewer doesn't tell time slept on the daily reports, there is a duration of sleep for each night. This is listed on one of the first few pages of the report, before the daily charts. If the machine is shut off, say for a bathroom break, it will record two times and add them together for the total. It does not show the time that events occur, but you do at least get a duration of sleep. Just thought i should clarify that.

Well, that's a relief in case I'm forced into switching to the PR System One Bi-PAP. I really need the times to reflect my local time (which is GMT -5 right now).

Well I guess a crude time is better than no time. With Encore Pro, is it impossible to zoom in on the waveform data and look at it more closely? The screen shots I've seen seem to present that data as a very long set of static graphs as opposed to ResScan's whole (compressed) graph that can be zoomed in on at any point the user chooses to zoom in on.
What does Encore Pro 2.2 need to be installed properly? Will it run on an XP? I've heard that it also needs SQL server?

For the insomnia stuff, it's not the total sleep duration that I want the time stamps for.
Rather it's so that I can
after the fact tell just
how late it was before I went to bed and
what time it was when I woke up in the night. I try really hard NOT to look at the clocks in the bedroom when I go to bed, when I'm lying there trying to get to sleep, or when I wake up at night. With the S9, I can see what time I turned the machine on and off all night long using ResScan without me needing to look at a clock. So I can get objective evidence on whether the bedtime insomnia is beginning to get worse without my having to record my bedtime, which inadvertently aggravates the bedtime insomnia.

Actually, I must be confused, myself, and gave you possibly incorrect information. This thread
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=57247&p=538410&hili ... rm#p538410
shows examples of waveforms, possibly from EV 2.0. I haven't figured out how to access it.
Note that it does record clock time.

That makes sense. I just wasn't sure, so i wanted to clarify.

I re-read the whole thread you posted the link to. I think your original interpretation was correct: No waveform data in EncoreViewer. But you can get waveform data if two conditions are met: (1) Your machine is a System One series (not the older M-series) and (2) you're using Encore Pro.

look at that
be aware there are probably still a lot of m series auto bipaps and m series bipap PLUS (oops had said pro) around

correction: this is only true for the early PR system 1s - I bought mine around January and the menu is no more there. You have to adjust your time in the software, not in the CPAP itself
