I tried every cpap pillow out there.
I finally made my own.
It's a memory foam pillow that I find on sale, $20.
Make the cutouts w/a sheet rock utility knife.

I copied Carbonman's idea and it works well. As I already had an old foam pillow and knife it cost me nothing but a little time. Thanks Carbomman! And thanks too for all your special photos that you share with us.

$189??? Even in AUD doesn't make sense. On their website the largest Regenesis pillow is USD$49.99. It does say they don't ship internationally, but when I send a 7lb package to my son in Australia, it's only ever $20-$30.

I carved a butterfly shape out of regular salvage sofa cushion foam.
Too thick for this new mattress.
I have 2" memory foam that I hope to layer for the 3-d pillow--extra wide so I can claim my side of the bed.

Ah yes, I remember fondly the first time I sliced/diced a $20 foam pillow from Walmart with Carbonman's encouragement. I used an electric carving knife and it wasn't really too hard to do. We used it for a long time until I became a "snob" and ordered a "special" cpap pillow.

Jon, I'm another who is not sure how you turned up such a high price. For example, my favorite PaPillow is about $65 at cpap.com here in the US, and even with shipping from US could not come to $189.

You probably need to try different search entries.
You might also need to shop at a WalMart or similar for an inexpensive memory foam contoured pillow. In the US they run anywhere from $12-25 for an inexpensive version, and accommodate a FFM or any other mask very well when you sleep on your side (as is recommended) on the edge of the pillow.
