You may be correct about the picture not being real BUT it make's you think.. It could be possible,I'm sort of glad to that TROLL for bringing this back out to light.meaby by this individual doing this and trying to freak us out actually did some good, i found it to be a quick, inexpensive fix for a little piece of mind, the last thing that we need is to be more stress out while trying to get to sleep with this mask and hose attached to our face

The Subject of the thread is a teaser. The actual poll question is not open-ended at all:
Did you inspect, clean, or blow out your hose yesterday?

I was already using an insect excluder on my hose, but I did start a new habit, which is to put the insect excluder over the hose if I get up in the middle of the night. Previously, I had just been detaching my hose, laying it on the bed, and the reattaching it when I returned. No more for me. That thing is on there 100% of the time that I'm not using it or cleaning it now.

I'm having a harder time convincing myself that the picture is faked. I recently saw an earwig crawl into a small space in some of my papers. Seems plausible that one could crawl into a hose. I dunno, but I'm not taking any chances. I've seen too many bugs in small spaces--black widows in particular are fond of small dark spaces, and I have a lot of those spiders around here. I understand brown recluses like the same thing, though I haven't ever seen one of those. I have had some really creepy encounters with black widows. I could tell those stories but I don't want to spawn nightmares for anyone about those.

But if you have to think the picture is NOT REAL in order to sleep and can convince yourself, that might be better than taking an actual precaution.

That whole photo thread was hysterically funny, but it did make me be a lot more vigilant about my equipment.

I thought we ideally want the hose to try out and not stay damp inside, no?

I guess it depends upon your understanding. I'm using an insect excluder, not a moisture barrier such as many other people have mentioned using.

OK, what's an "insect excluder"?

If a fly gets in your hose, put a spider in to catch the fly. Put a bird in to catch the spider, a cat to catch the bird, a dog to catch the... gee, this sounds like a Burl Ives song. Did he have sleep apnea?

Anything you use to keep insects out. In my case, I am using knee-high hose.

Wow, who knew pantyhose had so many uses?! Hanes really should be giving us some kind of kick back.

P.S. I can see why you preferred to call it an "insect excluder"

I had first started using a stocking over my nasal pillows mask the first time something like this happened to someone here - think the subject has been around a couple times. I guess it takes a visual reminder for me to get serious again. Last night I did turn the machine on and let it blow a while "just in case".
