Our grade railroad crossing has been replaced with an overpass;
The thump-thump of idiots playing rap while waiting for the train(s) has been supplanted
with the steady hum of increased traffic on the overhead roadway.
Our neighborhood has become increasingly Hispanic in culture,
so when there is a party, the music is salsa--very easy to listen to.
I am grateful; even though the hundred-plus coal trains a day continue, and the occasional wise guy blows the horn--
in spite of the fact there is no crossing to warrant a whistle.
Maybe I'll bitch to the railroad--but not today--I'm in a GOOD mood.

I have the same problem. I am the one with barking dogs (occasionally). One of the neighbors (even earlier in the evening) thinks that the way to deal with it is to yell "shut up" at the dogs. Well, the dogs are scared to begin with (abused rescue dogs) and there are many other dogs in the neighborhood - and all this neighbor does is make them more scared and want to bark more. Much of the time, I don't even know which dogs are barking - -ours or other dogs -- but this guy just keeps on yelling "shut up".

We've tried to talk to this neighbor and they are so full of themselves that they don't know that they are just making things worse. This guy yells "shut up" at other dogs too.

Since there is no reasoning with this guy I am not going to try and talk to him anymore. They can bring up "law" if they'd like, but it's not as easy to deal with as much as they'd think - especially since there are other dogs barking lots of the time too. Perhaps I need to send him a muzzle since he is the only single being making noise continually.

I live in Arizona, in the summer as soon as sunrises (around 5am) the two strokes get cranked up by all the landscapers.

Sleeping in until 6am would be a luxury
