I'm trying to picture what would have happened in the company where I worked for 17 years if someone contacted them advising that a person, claiming to work for them, was causing problems on an internet site (frequented by people of the industry) by giving out wrong information and abusing the members of the forum.
Knowing my former employer the way I do, their reputation is very important to them. I can almost guarantee that they would thoroughly investigate by verifying the posts in question, then doing an in-house investigation to make sure that nobody from the organization, USING THEIR COMPUTERS, had been frequenting the site during the times that the alleged posts were occurring.
If I owned a company, that's exactly what I would do.

Yes so would the company I worked for. Plus we already had a book 1/2 inch thick on email and social network protocols and this kind of thing was a huge no-no. The security personnel can back track this kind of thing - not quite like they do on TV but close. Marketing would be on their case to find out just who it is.

I have a feeling he'll be back.

Thank you,
It was disheartening to see him on here causing so much grief. I hope he does not come back.

The kind of statements made -- about fundamentally rejecting the very idea of a Patient's Bill of Rights, and calling patients stupid -- might have gotten him fired if he did work there.

Thanks so much Johnny! Calist was so disrespectful towards others and he was so mean spirited. I am glad that he has been officially "removed".
Regards to all,
Jersey Girl

Thanks Johnny! I also wondered if gvz and calist are the same person. I have to admit I did read all the posts, but preferred not to participate. How do you ban someone from a forum anyway?

You are at least the second person to mention that. (It was mentioned before on another thread.) The poster you mentioned, gvz, has given so generously to this forum. He wrote software and made it freely available to others so that they could integrate their oximeter data into ResScan. It is my understanding that he added additional features to the software to make it easier to use by others, and that he was planning to update it to make it even better. How many people on this forum are providing something like that? I don't use the software, but it shows incredibly bad judgment to say things like this that might drive away a valuable forum member. Do you really want him to be banned or to walk out on his own? If not, think before you post. You may not ever want anything his immense talents produce, but there are others who might. You may be hurting them instead of him with your "wondering" that you felt a need to make public instead of keeping such speculation to yourself.

I was not suggesting that they are one and the same person. I was wondering why Calist would apparently be there one day and gone the next. I then speculated that he may have been fired for his statements rejecting the very idea of a Patient's Bill of Rights, etc.
Perhaps we should all be a little more careful in assuming ulterior motives. After all, to one extent or another, we all have or have suffered from some degree of sleep deprivation and can make mistakes, especially if we try to mind-read. Chill.
Later: oops! I did suggest that! See what I mean about sleep deprivation? I could not even remember what I wrote earlier today.
svg, I apologize for my earlier statement and deleted it. It seems I have more OSA-induced brain damage than I thought. Sorry, man.

Really.
Breathe Jimbo wrote:What about the person who claims to have reached and spoken with Calist at NJH? Was that Calist under a different alias?
Pretty hard for me to interpret it any other way than suggesting they might be the same person, but feel free to go back and edit it to clarify.

I can certainly understand people's comments about gvz... After all, he was willing to give calist the benefit of the doubt when no one wanted to. Add that highly unusual gesture to his general track record of being generous and kind and you probably have an extraordinarily nice person.
I think we're probably very lucky to have gvz around here and just as lucky to be rid of calist. Thanks, Johnny, for your usual reasoning with compassion!

LoQ, you are absolutely correct. I did make that statement. I had completely forgotten about it because I had moved on to suspecting, instead, that Calist may have been fired for making certain statements. OSA-induced brain damage, perhaps.
svg, as I said, I apologize.
I'm off to the gym to see if I can rehabilitate this brain of mine.

Come on guys enough is enough....it's all over and done with, lets get back to our usual selves and concentrate on cpap. No more wondering why and pointing fingers, Johnny has done the deed and IT'S OVER, CALIST IS GONE!! We don't need to follow in his footsteps and keep ripping and biting at each other.
Tomorrow is another day free of calist, so let's make it a fun day. Take a deep breath everyone and be nice the problem has been solved.
Cheers
Nan
