Do you remember the Seinfeld episode where George's dad came up with the idea for a bra for men, which if my memory is working right today they called the mansierre (man-zir)? Take a leg of your mantyhose and cut off one of the legs. You use that to tie around the apparatus that holds the pillows, to keep it secure in its place, and then tie the two ends either upward behind the head, over the ears, or in the downward direction, at the base of the skull with, as RG suggests, a double knot. You don't actually make a knot, but loop the fabric around as if you were going to make a bow, but do it twice, and then don't complete the part when you'd tie the bow. That makes it easy to adjust and easy to take off. Works pretty darn well.

Don't let them talk you into a Girly Man approach. You can duct tape (a manly approach) a rubber door stop to the bottom of the lock box. This will alter the angle of the nose piece and take up the slack in the velcro straps. You too can be "Tool Time" without suffering the ridicule of a "Mantyhose" mask. Tim will be proud!

All of you crack me up. I didn't realize that I'd get this much enjoyment and entertainment from an "educational" site. Keep up the humor!

AS for the Aura, I too love it and hate it. It is the best as far as headgear and comfort, but I also have consistent leaks with the wire nose piece. I've bent the wires every which way. Some nights it's perfect, some nights major leaks. Before I try the mantyhose, I'm trying a velcro head strap from one of my many other failed devices... Hmmm... I think I'll cannibalize my old "Comfort Gel" mask for the strap. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try to graft the adjustable nosepiece from a Comfort Lite to the headgear of the Aura. That might make for a nice mask.

Hang in there with the Aura. Despite it's issues it is one of the best out there.

Sounds like you'll fit right in.
I believe the usual term around here for mixing, matching and rigging masks is "Lab Ratting". Let us know how it turns out.

how can you complain about air noise when you jingle all night with each movement?

and where is rudolph in all of this? how about changing the interface to be flashing blinking red?

Well haven't had to do the panty hose thing yet, but love the red and green!

Anyway, have been back to wearing my Swift, but thought I'd give the hair wrecker (Aura) another try last night. Actually, slept really great with it for the 1st time until I turned over and got a total shower. Now, having to fully wake up and shake out the water, and dry the nose pieces with a kleenex was not my idea of a fun night. After this happened twice, I put on my Swift at 3a.m., and slept the rest of the night.

Anyway, how do you all live with the rainout? Especially discouraging after reading previous posts that say even the heated hose doesn't work with this one.

Maybe if I tie a heating pad to my head with the pantyhose it will work on that rainout?

Snooze, I would try turning your humidifier way down and use AYR in your nose to keep from drying out. I just don't have the rainout here in Texas. We are having our first real cold frontg this year going below freezing and we have not turned the heater on and last night, still no rainout. I hope I don't this winter as I really like it.

Thanks, rock and roll. I have my humidifier currently only set on 2, but I will try 1. I have tried shutting it off, and had a sore throat by morning. Maybe the 1 will do the trick. Of course, I had my heat on 60 last night as we don't get cold. Tonite is a different story, though, as it is only 23 degrees outside.
