It was super late an night - my time - when I wrote the above. The second half of the message -- which I was too tired to fromulate (...) is this:

Once a person is indentified as a troll, the only response - repeated ad nauseam should be a message warning all others not to read - what he writes, something like:
"xxxxx is a troll, all his messages should be ignored".

The value of that kind of response is that it warns the unwary reader and does not engage with the troll -- it's a response that can be honestly written without reading anything a troll writes -- which is important since by engaging us in explaining and correcting and correcting and explaining, trolls take our time off from helping people who really need our help. Trolls have to be bored away - otherwise they simply bait more. They are past masters a baiting the likes of and me and you, and all those who care about correct information.

I'm not saying "the above is what you should have done in this specific case". I am saying - please everyone, when trolls are hanging around, do realise their expertise in making us respond to them".

On the other hand, for $5800 bucks the thing should put a mint on my pillow and make my breakfast for me in the morning.

Bingo! There are huge costs to create a unit that has to go through various regulatory agencies for approval. The FDA requires extensive studies to demonstrate the efficacy of the new therapy. Prior to the ability to digitize reports onto DVDs, the reports used to literally be delivered to the FDA from the back of a tractor trailor !!

The cost of the development of the therapy, several studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of the therapy, the manpower to oversee the work. The creation of the documentation to governmental approval. Add to that these companies must push through similar paperwork to other governments ... Suddenly, we are talking about a SERIOUS investment. Sure these companies make money on the units. But it probably is not as much as you would think. They definitely have to spend money to make the money.

You are darn right I would. Had my insurance company balked at paying for the therapy, I would have paid for the unit and then gone after my insurance company in court. But I am fortunate that my insurance did pay for it.
