Further discussion is pointless without confirmation by a sleep study.
G'day Breath Jimbo - I agreed with your above observations in a previous post - here it is again -
G'day Jimbo - I hear you - and you are right Sir { the mere fact that chopper is no longer having such conscious symptoms does not mean he is no longer having apneas.} I absolutely agree with you but has mentioned several times before and I will mention it again - Look at the postion I am in - ALL my outwards signs i.e. Waking up choking, gasping for breath, sufforcating dreams and waking up trying to breath many many times through the night have all disappeared in only 8 days of doing the 5 day buteyko course - If I do another sleep study they will stop me from taping my mouth closed and I will breath thorough my mouth and my airways will collapse -{ THE ONLY WAY I can prove if buteyko has stop my apneas is to find a sleep center that will let me do the the test all night long with my mouth taped up } then if I show no signs of apneas the buteyko method has obviously worked for me - I will look into this in the future to see if it is possible to have a study done with your mouth taped shut just to see if I am still having apneas.
Have a great day I know I will - Chopper.
p.s. Sleep log last night - 8.5 hours of sleep - woke up 3 times once to go to toilet the other 2 with a blocked nose did my Butekyo exercise to unblock nose went back to sleep no signs of free floating anxiety something I have had to contend with for years.

G'day Jimbo -
I forgot to mention that I also asked Mars from Australia to come around and spend the night at my house and bring his oximeter with him so we could run some tests to put his enquiring mind to rest - he did not reply back on the offer.
Have a great day I know I will - Chopper.

What about a bed partner waking up and making some noise?
To say that anyone who can't sleep through an entire night, must have sleep apnea, to me is rediculous!
Can you go through 4 hours without having to drink some water or to pee? Good for you. I can't.
Actually as an aside, I drink lots of water (4-6 L per day) - and I seem to have my bladder trained to hold it at night. I can hold it during the day, but don't want to for obvious reasons. Boy when I do have to go - do I go! When I am awake I always want water. But at night and when I am asleep I am different. But it's an acquired trait.

G'day Jimbo - not being up on oximeters myself why would Mars ask me to use one for results to prove something if it was just a waste of time to begin with anyway.

Breathing alone is not the issue, the dip in the O2 levels is the issue. Even without a sleep study you can buy an oxymeter and test just how your oxygen is doing, you could even borrow/ rent one. Personally I couldn't care less about observed breathing, the O2 levels are what is important, that is what damages the organs, especially things like the brains ability to be logical and evaluate situations. And as a programmer/ analyst I have no problems doing that now that I am using cpap consistently, just in case you are planning to comment that way, researching solutions to problems and evaulating them is one of the functions of my job.

G'day Blackspinner
What are you saying - if I use an oxymeter I can prove to everyone here that the Butekyo exercises have worked and are working for me because of my 02 levels - cause if I am reading Jimbos last post comments correctly it is just a waste of time and in his words { proves nothing, either way }.
So either an oxymeter does prove something or it does not - whats it to be?
Have a nice day I know I will - Chopper.

I meant, the failure to respond to your "offer" proves nothing, either way.
Further discussion is pointless without a sleep study confirming that Buteyko has given you "freedom from apnea and CPAP machine."

Admit it, this is an ad. By you NOT wanting another sleep study, you can not offer any evidence that it works. All we have is your word that it does. Sounds like snake oil to me.

Hmm, Didn't say I was a sleep tech. All I did was point out the glaring omission from your facts.
That you don't have any proof (medically) that this works. To me that is the same as snake oil. All we have is your word that it works. I will concede maybe a month before having a new sleep study. As far as taping, many clinics will let you tape now. Heck even in the sticks here, I could tape when I had my re-titration done.

Please see my previous posts regarding another sleep study in the not too distant future - if they will let me do the sleep study with my mouth taped SHUT I am all for it {Perhaps you could shed some light on that question being a sleep tech and all}- but right now I am only in the early phase of my Butekyo treatment {11 days} which if you read my all my previous posts you will see how happy I am about my progress at finally being able to sleep at night with plenty of REM - Dreams - and no choking, gasping or waking up 30 times a night getting only 2 to 3 hours light sleep a night which was me and had been me for a very long time only 10 days ago.
Once again this is not an AD - PLEASE READ --- MY PREVIOUS POST ---
I will repeat myself as I have said this many times already in my previous posts - the Buteyko course I just completed 4 days ago in Australia came with a 100% money back Guarantee if the person did not respond to the training - they are entitled to their money back no questions asked - so where pray tell 'IS THERE MONEY AT STAKE'
Their is another Australian gentleman on this forum {please excuse me for not remembering your name at present} who having read my posts said he would investigate further and maybe try the Buteyko method out - If he does go ahead with the 5 day course he will be offered a 100% money back guarantee I hope the gentleman in question will post back here to CONFIRM THIS FACT!
The gentleman in question lives in Brisbane Australia - the same place I just completed the 5 day Buteyko course if the gentleman does the course he will have the same teacher as me Brian Firth and Brian himself will confirm to this gentleman if he asks him that YES a man by the name of bi - polar mark did indeed complete the course with him the month of September 2010.
I do not work for any company or have any affiliation what so ever with Buteyko apart from being a recent graduate of their 5-day course.
Once again - 'WHERE IS THERE MONEY AT STAKE' - THERE IS NONE AND THAT 'FACT' IS QUITE OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice day I know I will - Chopper.
p.s.
There are Butekyo clinics in many parts of the world but they will touch the potential $$$$ in cpap and accessories sales per year – so relax you will never be out of a job as a sleep tech.
And you still didn't answer my question, Will they refund the $4000 ($3200 in airfare, $800 in hotels) along with the course cost if this doesn't work for me?
I didn't think so............
So for that $4000, I can buy (out of pocket mind you) a new Bi-Pap at $1500 (approx.) and then I still have $2500 left over to buy masks, filters, tubing, and anything else that I might need. Now since I have insurance, I won't come near $4000 in my lifetime in spending on XPAP supplies.
And don't rehash the same response. You aren't answering the questions.
Now to poke a hole in your math......
but right now I am only in the early phase of my Butekyo treatment {11 days}
which was me and had been me for a very long time only 10 days ago.
the Buteyko course I just completed 4 days ago
If he does go ahead with the 5 day course
Ok, So 11 days of therapy. But only 10 days before you were gasping and choking while asleep. But you completed the 5 day course only 4 days ago.
Your math isn't adding up. That would mean that you have had 2 days of therapy BEFORE you took the course. Hence another reason I believe this is an ad.

G'day Allen -
I started my 5 day Butekyo course on Tuesday 28th of september it is now the 10th of October - I have been practising the Butekyo exercises for 12 days straight - there is nothing wrong with my maths - this is not an AD - and why on earth would you want to fly to Australia from the U.S.A. when you can find a Butekyo practitioner in America. -
http://members.westnet.com.au/pkolb/BP_AMER.htm
By the way if I spend a couple of grand buying a cpap machine and all the other stuff that goes with it only to find out I am in the 50% that it does not work for - DO I GET MY MONEY BACK -NO SIR I DON'T!!!
I really hope the other gentleman from Australia who said he was gonna do the course really does do it and then posts back here and confirms that I did indeed do the 5 day course because he will have the same teacher as me because we live in the same area of Australia.
Brian Firth the teacher in the video link I posted WILL CONFIRM THIS . -
http://www.buteykohealth.com.au/index.p ... &Itemid=36
All it's gonna take is 1 more person from the 59.500 members of this site to do a Butekyo course and post their results here - cause it seems to me that no matter what I say or what results I POST ON HERE IN THE FUTURE - NO ONE WILL BELEIVE ME !!!!
When someone else posts positve results from doing the Butekyo course on this forum - I am gonna laugh my head off at all you peolpe who keep accusing me of lying and postings AD'S amoung other things.
Have a great day I know I will - Chopper.

Fifty percent of people who've started Cpap and don't continue on it "fail" because they haven't been properly shown how to use the machine, and/or get fitted for individually appropriate masks in their size, as well as not been helped through psychologically hard times regarding claustrophobia, worries about wearing masks in the presence of bed partners, all kinds of issues, let alone being told it's "illegal" for them to dare change their own pressure on the machine, as well as not knowing the software would allow them to not have to do new studies every year and to learn how to read daily results for themselves. Nothing to do with anything else!

Either way you cut it and for what ever reasons it is still a 50% fail rate - that's a hell of a lot of people losing a hell of a lot of dough - it not all a bed of roses in 'cpap world' not by a long shot indeed.
